Default Radiator fluid.

OK guys I got a puddle of antifreeze sittin on top of my motor, well right behind the alternator between the two heads. Im sure it might be a head gasket or a head but the temp gauge isnt goin high and she runs fine, but i can smell it everytime i pull in the garage, its just sittin on top so i couldnt find any leaks on the ground but spotted it today, any recomendations on what i should do or what else this could be?

Welcome to the club. Your plastic crappy intake is leaking just like mine is. I am dropping in a cobra engine so I have not gotten it fixed. Take it to Ford and find out if your year stang falls under the recall that they have.

Only if you go for the PI head swap. The new intake has #1 runner in aluminum so it will not crack and leak best thing to do is take it to Ford and ask if you are covered by the recall. I went but my GT was not.

Yeppers like he said your intake manifold cracked its a pretty commen problem. only thing you can do is replace it. This might be a good time to find a set of used heads and intake from a PI motor (99+ 4.6 2 valve) and add them as it will cure the problem and add lots of power.

are all 99+ 4.6 2v's PI motors? will this add a lot of power to a stock engine?

It will get you to about 265hp which is what 1n 99 gt but if you add a cam you will get a bit more. Your compression will go up so if you plan on forced induction this might be a problem and will limit boost.

There is a coolant tube that comes out the back of the water pump that could be leaking also.

Sure you guys aren't talking about a TSB rather than a recall. From what I've heard they are only replacing the police car intakes for free and the rest of us are S.O.L.

Here is a copy of the TSB. http://www.p71interceptor.com/recall...2/tsb0222.html

Does anyone have any experience with the PI intake from here at MT, pros -cons? And can anyone recommend where to get the heads to go with it? And lastly is it easier to replace the cam when doing the PI swap and how much power should i expect from a cam?

pi intakes are all the same form ford only thing differnt is that some have a metal front crossover for the coolante you want one like this.

as for heads get used PI heads 99+ 2 valve 4.6 heads (truck ones are the same).
Ebay should have alot of these. and for cam, well we have over head cams so we have 2 of them. its easyer to do it now since the heads are comming off. you can gain up to 35hp just from cams but with your setup i would guess 25hp from the cams. you can get your PI heads ported while they are out aswell. total gain should be something like what 65hp or more.
