I hate those sites where you post a question and some A-hole old timer tells you to use the search feature......but it can be your friend :beerchug: I think there are many threads on this, but here is one that I found.

BBKs fitment sucks on headers. And good luck doing a header job on jackstands. Youll need to drop your kmember and lower your engine. Its about a 6-7 hour job is everything goes smooth and you have all the tools right there. Ill tell you right now... its not going to be that way though.
lol

jeredan2003 07-21-2006 05:33 PM

pay someone to do it, youll thank me later...........

2000novigt 07-21-2006 06:30 PM

I did mine if you drop the k its not hard but just takes alot of time

Use the search feature. lol

I think i am going to go with Hookers.

dfroster 07-23-2006 08:40 AM

I just finished a set of bbk lt on a 02gt. Fit was great, took me 4hours on friday, and all day yesterday 9am-9pm with a few breaks. I ran into a few problems, so it took longer. I put slp on my car without the k-frame down-took four days. the k-frame drop is the only smart way to go. It's a lot of work but if you take your time you can do i over a weekend. get some "s" wrenches the bbk pass header will use them and nothing else will fit. If $ is no matter, than pay someone to do it. This guy couldn't pay a shop the 400-500, so I did it for him.

Take it and get them done. I helped my friend put some hookers on, and it took so long that i left. It was rediculous. Good headers tho.

Weels1 07-24-2006 05:26 AM

I put SLP longtubes on my 02GT with the K-member on. It's not the easiest job but it can be done. Plan on downing the car for a few days. I suggest going to any header company site and look for install directions. Heres some things you'll need Air tools, ratchet wrenches, squiglies, floor jacks,Band-aids and beer. lol Good luck:beerchug:

03gtmustang 07-24-2006 01:55 PM

You dont need air tools. You can do everything with basic hand tools.

Maybe not but it sure helps time wise. Motor mount bolts, exhaust hardware, etc. I see you didn't bash the Band-aids though.:poke:

Basic hand tools aren't going to cut it unless your dropping the k-member half of the studs/bolts you can't even see. Why don't you tell it like it is. Maybe you read to much into my "NEED" cuz you really don't "need" the beer or band-aids but they help as do the air tools.:bash:

03gtmustang 07-25-2006 10:37 AM

You love arguing with everyone dont you? People are going to get the wrong impression with your post and think they cant do it because they dont have air tools. All you need are ratchets, swivals, some extensions, needle nose pliers, and basic stuff like that.

Maybe YOU should stop being such a prick about it. YES airtools help, but all he said was you dont NEED them. Give it up. He IS telling it like it is. Nothing more.

I will be installing Mac Ceramic LT's at the end of this week. I will be doing it in my garage on the floor with a few buddies... you just have to be smarter then the car... I helped with another set before and the driver's side isn't really that bad.. but the pass. side can be a pain... just take your time and take alot of breaks or you'll find yourself throwing tools across the room

Or almost dropping the stock k member on yourself.:wallbash:

madmatt 07-26-2006 08:44 AM

LOL I seem to remember you telling me that it was quite heavy...LMAO

A little lesson for you kid "NEED" is not just used as "REQUIRED" it also means "DESIRED". I apologize to the original poster if I mislead him. My intent was to inform him.

Madmutt if you ever get up my way look me up and I'll give you another life lesson.

If you want to argue over stupid comments I'd luv to see anyone use needlenose pliers to install headers. Have either of you EXPERTS ever installed headers? Doesn't seem like it. :loser:

You use those to remove the cotter pins, not install the actual headers. And yes, Ive done a lot of header installs. More then you have.

How and the Fug would you know how many header installs I've done?

Heres the proper way to remove a cotter pin.

Step 1.) Cut with diagonal "cutter" pliers. Makes it much easier to remove then replace it with a new one.

Step 2.)Step back reach for beer and admire your fine work.

I've installed my headers twice on my 02GT and haven't come across a cotter pin yet though. Hmmmm maybe I'm missing something. WTF

madmatt 07-26-2006 01:17 PM

 Ok tough guy...

I just checked your AGE "19" Holy Crap I'm being schooled by a boy less than half my age.

FYI I've been racing off and on for 26 years. Circle and drag.

So if you ever have any questions ask away.

I too also thought I knew it all once when I was your age.

Time for my nap.

Yeah, really sounds like it with all your stupid comments and bad tech. Im just glad Im more mature then you. Theres a reason why Im a mod here. And believe me, your the last person Id ask anything.

BTW, Id watch yourself. You dont want to get locked up here like you did on MD. :ban: Showed some good maturity and good tech there too.

madmatt 07-26-2006 01:41 PM

Oh its too late for that crap. You are gone. We asked you to not be such as prick, instead of being nice, you have to sit there and first off, threaten me, and secondly, try to tell a person who has done more header installs in his "19 young years" of age, than you have. You're done. Got pester someone else, and enjoy the nap.
