whats the best for my car

Ok well im going to change my sprak plugs and wires and do a oil change. Which plugs and wire would be best suited for my car and which oil I no synthetic. I live in nj if that matters any.

NGK TR55 plugs, royal purple or mobile 1 syn 5W30 oil, and MSD wires.

Ive heard of too many problems with NGK. Personally I run Autolite coppers.

that's a first for me, i've used them for over 2 years now and have them in all 3 of my vehicles with no problems. but i know sometimes there is a bad batch of anything that goes out.

Im on my second set of NGK's without any problems. Tim at MPH uses NGK's in his blower kits too.

I know this is :offtopic: but I will ask anyway LOL

I thought some 99-04s had spark wires??

I have used NGK and Autolite....no problems on each...not really sure why I changed from autolite to NGK...they were cheaper :)

actually...to tell you the truth...I have no clue why I have had three sets of spark plugs on this car lol

99 and up have coil over's, so no spark plug wires, only 98 and down do.
the extras are some back ups....I have extra's for my car.

autolite. cheap, perfect, need nothing more.

WhitePony 07-18-2006 09:25 PM

NOLOGY WIRES WWW.NOLOGY.COM and use there spark plugs...performance is all based on matching products...as a general rule of thumb.

Those wires are rediculous expensive. I wouldnt spend more then 60bucks on wires.

What Auotlites do you run with a N/A?

r3dn3ck 07-19-2006 11:28 AM

+0 for NPK. +4 for NGK by my count.. not that it matters.

FWIW... I use autolite 764.

NGK TR55's will probably be just fine unless he's running a power adder.....The problem some people have with TR6's are they are meant to be gapped at .34 (I might be a little off, but it's around that) versus plugs that are within stock heat ranges, which are meant for a gap of .54, which I think is close to the stock gap......... if you want to stay with your stock gap then don't get TR6's because they aren't made to be gapped within the stock range. I think NGK recommends that you only adjust the TR6 gap very very little.

But if your running a lot of timing then TR6's might help you out......maybe people with more knowledge can chime in.

spike_africa 07-19-2006 12:16 PM

TR55 come in .054" gap great for N/a and is a stock heat rang.

TR6 comes at .035" great for power adder motors like nitrous, blower, turbo, and one heat rang colder.

SO stock TR55 power adder TR6.
