ok here we go-

For catback there is little hp difference between most systems so choose and sound.

as for mid pipes:
h-pipes give more low end and midd power and have a deeper old school muscle car sound

x-pipes give up top power and have a more european sound kinda like a bmw v8.

there is about a 2-3 hp difference between the 2 but like i said they give power in differnce spots.

My setup is off road h-pipe meaning no cats and mac catback. its mean and was cheap just over 300 for the whole setup.

i've only heard two setups as far as exhaust goes on GT's

I have a mac offroad x pipe, and magnaflow cat back. sounds awesome. no drone, loud when you want it to be (acceleration), and quiet when you want it to be (idle and highway speeds/no drone).

my buddy use to have a mac offroad x-pipe and flowmaster 2 chamber, and that was louder than mine during acceleration and idle, and also droned. now he has bbk long tubes, bbk xpipe and flowmaster 2 chamber and its not much louder than his original setup its just deeper and meaner sounding during acceleration. Its not too loud at idle but it is definately louder than mine.

hope that helps!

Thanks for your help guys I'm thinking of going with Mac cat back and not sure who's but cated H-pipes... the cops here in NY love to get muscle cars that are loud and with the emisions here i won't pass. I would love to take out 2 of the 4 cats on the car. I've heard and read that even with the 2 cats the car will still pass.

I dont know much about the quality of Macs catbacks, but I do know that their headers and midpipes arent the best out there. Im running Mac LT's with Mac catted H (o/r H for the track) and Magnapack catback. Then theres also Bassani, which is the most expensive, best quality, but personally I think its the worst sounding out of the three. Mac will rust a bit, but I love the way my set up sounds. I wouldnt change anything about it. Id also take the Magnapack catback over anything else.

I reccomend going with SLP, they have a certain sound which is different than all the other mustangs. I just installed the SLP catted X-pipe and it sounds incredible.

As for SLP you might want to find someone around you with it if possible. Alot of people do not like the sound. I think it sounds fine.

If you want to get exahust here I would go with magnaflow. But I have Borla and like it pretty well. I am going with a catted SLP X in the next month or so.

For sound and quality SLP is the way to go. Stainless steel the whole way through, and it sounds like the world is comming to an end when you romp on it.

I also just installed the SLP catback on my car...and i must say.....LOUD AS HELL!!!!! Really it doesn't get any louder than that. And this is with the stock h-pipe and headers. It's crazy. I love it though. A lot of people complain about the drone but honestly....i like to hear my car and watch other people's expressions!! That's how i know it's working. hahahah Go with SLP. You won't be sorry!

Switch to a off road pipe, My magnaflows were quiet till i put the off road pipe on, I picked up 12hp and sound is 50% louder at least. Still kinda quiet at idle, but loud as hell when im into it. My 97 did have 6 catalytic converters so that quieted it up quite a bit. No drone at all. Ive had te stock 3.27,3.90, and 4.10s and no drone on any gear.

Go with magnaflow! Great quality and won't make you go deaf....if you want loud go with the magnapack! Also, I don't think the drone is too bad with magnaflow.
