Underdrive pulley question?

I am looking at some UD pulleys. BBK, March, Mac, Steeda is there any difference? What is a good price for 96 cobra? Thanks

Steeda if cant afford them then get March piggy back style

spend the 200 bucks on a down payment for a nx kit. well worth it.

pulleys = $200 = 10 hp

nx kit 100 shot = $500 = 100 hp

hmmm for twice as much money u get 10 times the hp.

500 just for the kit....and then u gotta get all the other stuff that will up the price to about $1000

digital window switch, bottle warmer, purge kit, nitrous gauge and fuel pressure gauge. these items are very very important for a nitrous system to work safely and correctly. then u gotta think about colder spark plugs....fuel pump.....oy oy oy oh..and a dyno tune for your nitrous set up..lol

Pulleys have caused so many problems on stangs out there, I've never trusted them enough to order them.

Same way I thought. Too many bad stories that I heard of. I like my water pump and alternator working the way they are. Replacing those both arent worth the 5 hp Ill get from pullies

NoKturnaL 03-25-2006 12:29 AM

I know so many earthlings that have STEEDA pullies. and never had any issues with the STEEDA pullies...
Steeda pullies are the best..its the other brand pullies that give the most issues...

I am having a set of STEEDA pullies installed on monday....
I will give my full review after the install and me driving with em...I wil let ya know if I FEEL any difference at WOT....

I saw numbers somewhere that showed a a stang (somewhere near a 00-02 gt) gaining the same horse with pullies as compared to just removing the airbox around the K&N filter from the factory.....tale it for what its worth.

:stupid: this is the correct answer. also the only pullies i would run on a mod motor is the steeda pullies. i do not recommend the piggy back style

Yep, I would only do Steeda. Saleen pulleys are almost identical, but of course, just paying for the name.

hum what stories have you all heard with pullies? I have never heard of any. I have had my march pullies on for shoot almost 2 or 3 years now and never had any issues with them or the engine.

They've been known to dim the headlights, weakin the alternator, couple other little things. These are just what I've heard though.

I would personally save your money and not buy underdrive pullies. My friend put some in his fox body 5.0 and they really didn't do much for performance, but it did make all his lights run dim. I think there pretty much like cai's a waste of money. Just my opinion though

YOu dont need all of those items you listed to run a nitrous kit. The windows switcha nd all of that really isnt needed its all just extra. I would recomend the window switch but the fpss and all that stuff really isnt needed. Again all nice to have but deffinatly not needed at all.

And i am on my second mod motor vehical with underdrive pulleys no problems at all a/c is still very cold car charges fine, same with my old f150.

Do you have Steeda?

dsdaddy 03-25-2006 03:09 PM

I put BBK's on mine, no probl;ems with lights, charging or A/C. I din't really feel a big change at all, but since I picked 'em up cheap, I can't complain. Pics in this thread... https://mustangboards.com/pictures/6...nderdrive.html
