MGW shifter VS PRO 5.0, Steeda, Hurst
I am looking in the market for a short throw shifter and from what i have gathered MGW is by far the favorite. Any objections? How hard is it to install this shifter, I ask because I think i am capable but if it is real precise stuff i leave it to a pro. Any input is much appreicated.

All the tools I needed was an 8mm, 10mm, and 13mm wrench. It comes with the sealent and allen wrench. I'd give it 2 out of 10 stars when grading its difficulty of install. 1 being a CAI and 10 being like a s/c install or something really tough |

Yeah, me and a friend took an hour, but if we had to do it again, I'd say 30 minutes tops. Take your time with it, but once you're done, you'll see it wasn't hard at all. |

Sounds easy enough, i take it everyone is in favor of mgw then? Rate it

5 out of 5. I've seen people go from "short shifter XYZ" to MGW, but have yet to read about anyone goin from MGW to somethin else.
|
shifter install = easy smeezy, it doesnt take long at all
lots of folks on here swear by MGW... I prefer the pro5.0 but thats a matter of opinion... i have driven both and like the pro5.0 where as some like danny have driven both and prefer the MGW so... if ya know anyone with those shifters sit down and get a feel for em and you deside for your self... as for install... ha ha... its like changing a flat tire... |
if you know some other people with aftermarket shifters that you could check out i think it would help you make your decision. anything is going to be better than the stock piece of crap.
|
I dont know much about the mgw. But I have the pro 5.0 and i love it. Its one of the best mods i have done to the car so far.
|
Just go to www.modularpowerhouse.com and go to the forums and do a forum search for "MGW" or search for threads with MW in the name and you'll see a buncha peoples' opinion and there is not 1 negative thing said about it

x1 MGW for the win! Installed mine a couple weeks ago and each day it seems to get smoother! |
on this board and many others it goes: MGW, Steeda Tri-Ax, Pro 5.0
i personally like my hurst...just needs a differnet stick...thats it.... |
pro 5.0 - tri- ax all the same sh!t ... dont worry about it - i got a tri-ax works great - get wut ever brand u can get cheapest - i bought my tri ax used for liek 100 bucks - the mg wutever isnt worth 2x the price -neither is a new tri-ax over a 5.0 - theyre all good just get wut u can get the best price on
|
haven't heard anything about the tri-ax.. have it in my car love it not notchy at all just perfect
|
Go with MGW, I just put it in my stang and its the best shifter i have ever used. I used to have the tri ax and this one is better. My friend has the 5.0 and he even likes mine better. Trust me, you will love the MGW shifter.
