LOL...RACED a 72 Mustang Mach I.....Can you say no chance at ALL!! I smoked his ***!!!!! He felt stupid because he ran off to another lane after the race, would not even look at me!!!!! Didn't those cars only have like 185hp at the Crank??? Why would he even think he could hold with me?

 

I'm not sure, but I thought they had a 351 cid 4v V-8 275 hp...but that might have been an option engine or something. Ever raced a 03/04 Mach 1??

It's cool to race other Mustangs. Ever heard of MOM's racing? (Mustang on Mustang). There is a club in NY.

While I love old school, those old cars are not as fast as people think.

 

Especially '72... '70 was the last year of free for all horsepower. by '72, the government was all up inside those 351s with all kinds of poorly designed emission stuff. Plus, they were trying to get better gas mileage (gas crunch) and the insurance industry was finally getting their way with the higher rates for high horsepower. I think I remember hearing that the Trans Am was one of the only cars in '72 that came from the factory with over 200 horsepower but i'm not sure... By the time the 80's rolled around, the little mustang 5.0 that could do 225 horsepower was considered a powerhouse

All the mustangs around my area know me and my car. So after i run them once, they play cat and mouse and try to get away.

The stats that I saw for the 72 Mach said the 351 only pushed out 275hp, which is not that much for the size of that engine....with that said it probably wouldn't take much at all to make that thing a beast. I'm pretty sure BraggStang is spraying cause he threw a quick challenge my way and I usually destroy 2 valves (unless blown or spraying) so he's got something.

 

i'll be in the bay area (richmond/san pablo) in 1 month. 20-30 hp less then here in DE.

 

I did blow the doors off. In fact I gave him the jump and then i romped on her and flew past him like he was standing still......NOS??? who me??? hehehe!!!!!!

 

Why would I lie about beating another mustang??? Who cares who wins we both have stangs!!! It is fun to race, I race anyone!!!!! I don't care If I win or lose. There are alot of Hondas/Nissians/Acuras that would blow my car away, I dont care its fun to race!!! You all need to calm down!!!! If I really want to race I hop on my ZX10R and blow everyone of you away with it!!! Raced a 04 Cobra just today with it and smoked the hell out of him!!! I run 10.5's with my 10R that is pure stock. Wait till I throw my NOS on that!!!!! I'll be in the 9's easily!!!! So if you all think you have a fast car, please come to Fort Bragg, NC and we will race for $1,000!!!! 1/4 or top end!!! Nope, Sure don't all I know is he looked at me (Some young Kid) at the Green light he took off, and that is when I was on him!!!!!!! After about 1/2 Mile he was so far behind he moved to another lane and would not even look at me!!!!! So what is the big deal about racing another mustang??? news flash - those old cars are junk - yea yea they say they have 275 - but dyno proven closer to 150-190 - unless they are rebuilt or something - they suck - those old factory numbers are BS - yes modern cars will stomp them.

wait a minute, those older cars that supposedly had 275hp were rated differently. that would be a completely different number by todays standards..

 

Hey i'll be back in Bragg in april. I'll race ya. I'll probably lose but atleast I can act as a witness to the shear horsepower of that 72 mach 1 killin machine. anytime.

 

Sorry, I was responding to a small thing you said about racing other stangs and then switched gears....... BraggStang was bragging about beating up on an old mach so I asked him if he ever raced a 03/04 mach 1 and he said anytime anywhere cause he had a suprise for me...then I later figured out his suprise was his bike, not his stang.
