Idk about the engine, but it keeps the temps down for the transmission. Number one reason for failed Auto Tranny's are overheating of the fluid. I have a tranny temp gauge in my car so I know the temps I currently run at. I'm hoping to rarely see over 180 degrees when summer comes. In the past I've been as high as 220

Sweet! Where'd you get the gauge and do you have any pictures of it? Come to think of it, I'd love to see all of your interior what with all of the customization you've done to it.

are you gonna hook it up before or after the radiator? the cooler i got is about the same dimensions as that one except i have a 24000 gvw rate. mine will be hooked up after the radiator and tuck it behind the intercooler.

I'm not real sure. I'm having my installer do it with me so whichever he feels works best.

I also have this one and it works well. I mounted it in front of the radiator (lower right corner).

For you guys with a cooler, any ideas what temps you're running at now or how many degrees you have cooled down since installation?

I do not have a gauge for the trans, so I do not know. More of a peace of mind type of thing, and KNOWING one was needed with the converter and shift-kit.

my f150 which has the same tranny (4r70w) even when it had the shift kit it would run in the 200 rang when driving around with aggrissive throttle use. then i added 3k stall B&M nitrous holeshot convertor and the temps had goen into the 230rang a few times. I got a B&M super cooler 24,000GVW cooler and even in the dead heat of summer (when all of this testing and temps was goign on) i didnt go over 185* once. Ps if your tranny is going over 210* its killing your tranny. you idealy dont want it over 200*.

Ps nice guage i had the same on in my truck it is a really nice guage to have and a must for a high performance driven car or truck if you asked me. I stopped and pulled over a few times before i had the cooler to let it cool off and i bet thats what saved my tranny from dying.

UPDATE: So my installer forgot to order the Ford Racing tranny cooler. Maybe it was a sign, because I told him to order the B&M supercooler instead, basically it'll be installed on Tuesday
