Default Front Bumper Hmmm

Well here is the deal. The guy I sold my 99 Cobra wheel's too here in town want's too change his Stang back into more of a stock appearance.Right now he has a 00 V6 with a Black Widow hood and a Cobra R front bumper. The bumper is busted up bad.

Ok he really want's to buy my GT hood and I'm thinking probally my front bumper if I change it.If I sold both of them too him I'm thinking one of these for mine I could probally get say around $700 for the hood and bumper from him.

Which one of these do you think would look good on mine.

you cant go wrong with the front set up the guy has right now . I think the bw hood looks better on pre 99's. I would say go with rousch if you do go thru with the deal.

How about just a 2001 Cobra bumper? Looks exactly like the Cobra R's except with the huge splitter on the bottom? Those are my favorite.

The cobra r looks mean on any model, but i think roush owns the 99-04 kits imo.

The real cobra R bumper is a two piece. Its a stock Cobra 99,01,02 bumper with the added splitter. The front bumpers that are one piece is not the real thing. I would make a cobra r Clone as you are almost there.

Cobra R bumper is nice but its very impracticle for a daily driven car. you will scrape EVERYWHERE. Especially lowered. My buddy had one on his 03 gt and mine sat a tad lower with my h&rs to his eibachs. He also had Chrome cobra R rims though. He busted the lip all the way through and never fixed it to put it on.

If you get that bumper you will regret it.

Heres a pic of my buddys car to give you an idea of how low it is. With h&rs, it will be a slightly lower.

That is not the real font bumper. Here is a pic of the real one if you look real close you can see the two pieces plus the metal pins that holds it in place. Looking at the real bumper it does not look as low fake one but it could just be the angle.

Lance:

I think the Cobra R looks too Ricey, but mostly I think because I see it a lot on riced-up stangs. Follow me?

The Saleen is a good choice, BUT your hood is rounded in shape and that bumper is "squared-off". My vote would be for the Roush...I think it would look just like it belongs. The nice thing about the Roush bumper is that is looks like it should be stock. It never looks like someone stuck it on there...its looks like it came with the car.

I have too agree with MattJ and MT's #1.

I really like the Roush front and it won't scrape as bad as the R.I have seen how low it set's with a stock hieght and on mine it would sit way too low I think.

Personally, I think you should stick to the stock piece, BUT if you want any of them, its gotta be the roush, but there again, a roush front to ME, doesnt look great unless you have the whole thing, like side exhaust and such. Now, Blake got the one for rear exhaust, so maybe look into that, cause his doesnt look bad. Id stick with the stock piece though, your car is just so damn clean, and I swear, if you put that damn cobra R front bumper on there, I will personally fly up there and kick your ***. LOL Im not scared of your commando gear and camo face paint...

if you're going to buy a bumper im voting for the roush, but i agree with everyone that said it would be better spent on performance. you have the looks already, need to make it as fast as it looks.

The R can only be done if you do an exact clone of the original or like MT said it will look rice. If you dont want to go all out then stick with the Roush or just do interior or something under the hood.

I would bust the R bumper within a week. I would be so afraid pulling into parking spots or driveways. Atleast with the chin spoiler it gives and only costs $60 to replace. ROUSH is what I think!
