Well tonights the night.... Im about 2 hours away from the time Im supposed to run the camaro. I am pretty sure im going to leave hard on this guy and he wont be able to catch up. Ive been working on my car since the day last week that he called me out.

1. Put a new intake on that corrected the A/F ratio.

2. Put a fuel safety switch on it.

3. Got my window switch working and my shift light.

Everything is ready for battle now. He wont catch it. Ill post the full story tomorrow morning. Even if I lose (doubt it) Ill let you guys know the truth.
Im so ready to stomp this camaro so I can get back and start partying.

gt 5 spd
camaro 6 spd tranny... yes that extra gear make a dif...

correct me if any above was wrong... i just cant see a gt beat an lt1 stock for stock... sorry
Well... first off you got all your #s wrong. The older LT1's came stock with 275(I think 95 and older) and then they bumped it to 285 until the LS1's came out, so no 300+hp. The 99+ pi 4.6's are 260, the 15 or 25 extra hp don't make up for the weight, and the 6 speed doesn't help the camaro out any... so stock for stock a GT will beat an LT1, I've done it before myself, and seen it done may times.

where does he say it was pre 95?

i thought this argument was over like a week ago... why must you bring it back up?
Yea I dont know what year it was. I cant tell the difference between a pre-95 and the later LT1 from just appearance. The thing was pretty fast though on spray. I saw him get on it without the spray and it looked like it was making decent power. I dont know any numbers though. These guys really dont like to tell much about their cars for some reason.... :shifty:

1993 saw the debut of the fourth-generation F-body, and a marked increase in performance. Camaros and Firebirds received a version of the 5.7 liter LT1 engine from the Corvette. This "Gen-II" small-block featured aluminum heads, reverse-flow cooling, and a redesigned intake setup that made good power all the way to the engine's 5800 rpm redline. The 1993 LT1 was rated at 275-horsepower, and LT1-powered F-bodies were good for 14's at the strip.

I brought it back up because you were wrong(and you said correct me if i'm wrong) the most an LT1 in a CAMARO was rated was 285(non-ss/ws6 in 96 and 97) Where did he say is was a vette LT1??

I thought that the SS and the WS6 is pretty much the same thing as a regular Z28 but it just has ram air on the bird and a different spoiler and hood on the camaro. They all use the same LT1 engine dont they? Do SS and WS6's run faster times than a Z28? I know of a pretty much stock WS6 LS1 that runs 8.40's in the 1/8th mile. Things are quick.
