the lt1 is just one of the many versions of an 350...
Stock for stock... An lt1 will stomp 281... easily...
There is no way he'd win unless-> the guy cant drive, the mustang is modded considerably, or there's something terribly wrong w/ the camaro
Not to mention its probly got the 6speed tranny... meanin closer gearin so i'd bet the guy would woop him from the line...
The lt1 is most def not something underestimate

cause come on... WOW... I"M SO F_IN AWESOME... I DRIVE A 5.0HO... YEP... I THATS ME... I BEAT A 1.6 CIVIC...

YOU CAN DO IT!

i know about the 350, a stock mustang can definitely take a stock lt1. i've done it many times. one of my good friends has a corvette with an lt1 and i take him all the time by car lengths. granted my car isnt stock but he was the first person i raced back when i bought my car and it was stock (except for a catback) and i beat him back then too.

how does the 6 spd makes it slowwer?
i thought the more gears... the closer the ratio... right?
or am i wrong... i could be... i'm not much of a tranny guy

the corvettes are much quicker than gts (especially a gt cvrt)
if you really beat a vette, there must have been some extraordinary circumstances

Thats what I needed to see! The last guy I raced had an LT1 with a 150 shot. I asked him if he was on the stock block and he said " Yea they come from the factory forged." I didnt buy it at first but I dont know that much about chevy engines either.
Well Heres how that race went just FYI . I had 800psi in the tank. stock tires and stock tune. Me and the camaro lined up on the interstate at 40mph. I had the spray on. I honked twice then I hit it after the third. I pulled a good couple of cars on the camaro through that gear. I shifted faster than he did. When I got into the next gear he started pulling next to my door and when I got to about 5500 RPM I had to shift but he didnt have to because his car was still pulling. I lost to him by a few cars when that happened. After that we cut it off at about 125 id say.
The reason I say I can beat this car is because with the new changes (genx2 kit and fixed A/f ratio) I have consistent 1000 psi all the way through the powerband. Before when the bottle was cold the pressure would gradually drop as I sprayed it. Im sure it wont be a huge difference but this camaro has 25 less hp than the last one I raced.

Let us know like I said my buddy has a 95 SS i believe green with a gear shifter exhaust y pipe all of that my 01 beat it the car wont run faster than a 14.0-14.2 he cant figure it out....Keep us posted a good kill story for us Ford guys is always good to read...remember ls1>lt1 i dont think you should worry about the LT1

I just realized that the compression on the LT1 is 10.4:1 . I think the stock 03 has a compression ratio of 9.5:1. The LT1 also has powdered connecting rods and probably not forged pistons. Wouldnt a 150 shot be a bit much for a stock 10.4:1 LT1 engine to handle? Are they that strong?

My 95 Z28 was damn fast with just a few goodie's on it.There was no SS in 95.The best time in my 95 LT1 was 12.6 with a 6 speed.
Now my LS1 SS 01 was a beast.Never ran it at the track but it felt alot faster than my 95 Z28.The biggest problem with both was being able to hook up.If they can't do that you have a real good chance.
And yes I used to love Camaro's but I'm much better now
