he still thinks his car would beat me with him jhaving CAI+SUPERCHIP+EXHAUST....i said ok? :icon_bs:

Lances03SVT 01-09-2006 06:37 PM

Let him get all of that and tell him when you win you want all that for the GT :)

MattJ 01-09-2006 06:38 PM

Intakes are worthless, spend the money on something better like gears or a tuner.

m0nkeh 01-09-2006 06:38 PM

lol...and its funny, he wants my sisyer in the car with him (she weighs 300pounds_ thats like wut 3/10ths of a sec. gone cause of that? rofl...i weigh 140 in my GT and them at a total of 500 in a v6....lolllllllllllll

TClark22 01-09-2006 06:38 PM

its not hard to launch...lol ur an automatic just push the pedal to make it go

m0nkeh 01-09-2006 06:39 PM

Won't matter you will still beat him BAD!!

m0nkeh 01-09-2006 06:41 PM

lol, thats true...but i GOTTA get under 15 or ill hear it for along time...lol

csledd 01-09-2006 06:41 PM

dude your dad sounds like a ricer! lol j/p

but yeah just find an empty open road where no potential animals can run up in your business and mess you up and see what you can do. try different launching techniques and get it to where you have a balance of it hooking up and not spinning. it'll be different at the track but you'll get the idea of where you'll need to make adjustments. make sure in the bet you get a few passes in to make that time, that way you can adjust for the track.

pimpmustangGT 01-09-2006 06:42 PM

10% is actualy within the realm of possiblity... I can bet a 10 at a minium... I dont know why you guys can't read dyno charts????

m0nkeh 01-09-2006 06:45 PM

lol, its alright, he doesnt like ford neways, he loves chevy...but the car is his so he wants to race his buddies from work in there sh*t cars....lol he can have his fun...if i go, itll be my first time at a track..ill be noooooooob

Grimmz 01-09-2006 06:47 PM

it should be the same concept as with a manual, just don't let the engine bounce off the rev limiter...smooth accel. and dump it in 1st...then you know how to make ur shifts...

Ghostalker 01-09-2006 06:48 PM

And track conditions are always better... atleast around here, you wouldnt be able to practise launching unless you personally sweeped and cleaned the street yourself, there is sand and **** everywhere... goddamn New England.. :censored:

csledd 01-09-2006 06:57 PM

oh yeah and a cai will not add 10 hp on our cars, sorry

m0nkeh 01-09-2006 07:01 PM

oh no, not 10HP, if i said wrong i meant 10PERCENT HP gain...but still rofl...ill let him have his fun

CCM 01-09-2006 07:03 PM

A 10% gain is even more than 10HP. Aren't the 98 V6's 160HP? That'd be 16HP. Either way he's wrong.

TayWolf55 01-09-2006 07:03 PM

You would have to go half throttle down the track to run a 15 or higher. Just make it easy on yourself: roll up to the light, dont even stall it up.. just launch off of idle, and keep the peddle to the floor. You will win, trust me.

m0nkeh 01-09-2006 07:04 PM

shouldnt i just have it in drive, foot on brake, at like 2-3K RPMs and then let go and floor it when its green/ or just wreck him from idle?

No, that would cause a lot of unecessary wheelspin. The only thing you have to really worry about is launch timing, and even if you really messed that up you'd still beat him. I think it's funny that he thinks he'll win even though you've got 100 more HP than he does...

m0nkeh 01-09-2006 07:17 PM

lol yea...but w/e ill let him thin the 98 is fast when i KNO its slow...i drove it...i kno lol
