Default Did you ever....

start something on your stang and wish you had not started? What is the biggest bone-head move you have ever done in relation to your car.

For me, it was my strut-tower intall. Seemed simple enough. I started around misnight figuring I would be done in an hour. I needed the car in the morning for a show. I ended up being up all dam night because rather than drilling and tapping (I did not have aq tap) I tried to bolt it on from the bottom w/o a lift. 5 hours later and all bloody knuckles, I got done.

Then one time last spring, I was getting readu to take the stang out for the firt time. I was in a huge hurry and the battery was dead. I jumped the car, but in my haste I reversed the polarity and fried the battery.

See, even a genius like me, screws up.

O jesus...

How about installing my Accufab Throttle body. I had to make a cut with the dremel to remove the twin butterfly body. After making the cut the piece that I cut fell between the runners and the block, so I had to take off the ENTIRE intake and remove it. At this point i decided to clean my IMRC's, and then realized my fuel injectors were cracked, so I had to replace those, and then I snapped off two bolts from overtorquing. The whole thing took me about two and a half weeks.

Total PITA, but in the end it was worth it.

The worst I've ever done was making a switch for the interior neons... I took a drill bit and drilled through one of the coinslots to make room for a switch, stripping plastic everywhere, making a mess, got the switch to fit in but it still looks like ****... and then found I could have bought them (a switched coinslot) from Ford for $10.

Changing the studs during my prochamber install. I thought we would NEVER finish that without breaking the stock ones off.

A long while ago, I saw that someone was making "ejection seat" buttons that replaced the coin holder. They were really funny and looked cool as hell.

The entire housing, man they are a PITA to deal with. My car is lowered with a chin spoiler and they leaked so I had to take em off. I just replaced em with the clear ones and they leaked too so I had to take em off and reseal them. There is 0 space to work on those. Its those 3 clips, they are impossible to get on.

i think it took me about 20-30 mins to take the old fogs out and put in the piaa's. did you take the front bumper off or try to do it with the bumper on?

for me, i'd have to say it was the upper control arm on my friends 06 gt. we probably spent about $40 on tools to do the job (breaker bar, special socket, universal, misc other stuff) and in the end we still couldnt break the bolt loose because of the angle. we're either going to wait until he does springs and panhard bar so we can just drop the whole rear end to do it or he might just pay somebody to do it. all in all we spent about an hour working on under the car and maybe an hour or more getting the parts/tools.

Dude, I did the exact same thing to mine, and it was very simple and only took about 20 minutes. I drilled the hole first and then used wire cutters to snip out the coin holder slots. It looks very nice also
