Well as a long time USC fan it breaks my heart to see them lose, however Texas is a good team and I think suprised a lot of us with their speed on defense. I also didn't realize how big and hard to tackle Vince Young is. So I have to give them props for winning straight up.

BUT I think USC had chances to put the game away and didn't do it. When Bush tried to pitch the ball back after running forever....that was retarded and really could have hurt Texas if he didn't do that.....but he did it....and the 4th down play with a couple of minutes to go....yeah, I would have went for it also cause it would have put the game away pretty much, but Texas stopped us....so hey you gotta give credit where credit is due.

The only thing that kind of pissed me off is when they were doing the awards presentation and Vince Young had the national championship trophy is his hand while the coach was talking and he was doing the Heisman....Vince, you didn't win the Heisman and it wasn't really even close vote for the Heisman....I think Bush got the most first place votes ever or something like that. So I lost a little respect for Vince after doing that, yeah, he was the mvp of that game and is a great player, but don't be classless and do some crap like that.

Anyway, congrats to Texas and hopefully the two teams meet up again for another epic battle!

I figure that's why a lot of people were routing for Texas, they were just sick of hearing about USC. Well, Vince didn't win the Heisman, and again, the voting wasn't even close. If the Heisman were based on last nights game, yeah he would have won it, but it's not. Sorry, I'm still a little a little upset they USC lost so I'm a little testy today! ha ha

LoL yeah

I too am glad to see USC loose, everyone know's they don't have the most difficult schedual...infact they got one of the weakest Div 1 Scheduals... Honestly I feel bad for the teams in the SEC...thats by far one of the hardest leagues, so many Great teams...and because you need a perfect record to go to the championship I doubt any of those teams will make it to a championship game even though I think most of those teams are better then the teams on the West Coast. I wish FSU was in a harder league, hopefully with VT and UM, and now BC, we will be better...

You know what man, USC got beat by a good Texas team.....but USC played 5 top 25 teams this year....how many did texas play? 3 I think. So don't say they had a weak schedule when Texas had an even weaker one. Yes, you are right about the SEC being a great conference, and don't hate cause the west coast is the best coast! ha ha ha

By the way, your Floriday State squad will be strong next year, they always are

It was an awesome game, USC couldnt stop Vince Young and Texas couldnt stop USC for the most part.

Both teams played awesome and in the second half it was an offensive battle. USC could very easily came back and scored if they had enough time, but they didnt have any more time. It came down to who had the ball last with time left to work. Overall an awesome game by both teams.

Passing
Leinart - 29/40 365 Yds 1 TD 1 INT
Young - 30/40 267 Yds 0 TD 0 INT

Rushing
Lendell White - 10 carries 124 Yds 3 TD
R Bush - 13 carries 82 Yds 1 TD
V. Young - 10 carries 200 Yds 3 TD
S. Young - 7 carries 45 Yds 1 TD

Recieving
Jarrett - 10 receptions 121 yds 1 td
Bush - 6 receptions 95 yds
Thomas - 10 receptions 80 yds

Overall
Rushing USC - 209 yds Texas - 289
Passing USC - 365 yds Texas - 287

Vince doing the Heisman was funny because he showed who the best player in College football was during the game.Yea another product of the system with alot of media coverage and hype playing for a good team wins the Heisman. Can you say Desmond Howard or Danny Wuerffel.

If your the best player in CF should'nt you get the ball on a 4th and one?Or during the 4th quarter?

Then no one say's anything about Weinart(yes with a W) saying "the best team did'nt win".How unclassy was that!!Wait till he's playing for the Saint's and can't even beat out someone like Tommy Maddox.

The best player I saw for USC was Lendell White.Without him they would have been in big trouble.

Very good point. I want to point out that I dont pull for either, I just wanted USC to win for some reason. That was VERY unprofessional of him to say that. But I still think it was unprofessional just the same for what Young did.

Hum....I am mixed about that. Come on the guy just won the National Championship. He is just what 20 years old....zhit he is a kid. He should be able to have some fun...the guy deserves it.

On the other hand, he is on TV. For millions of viewers, it is the first time anyone has heard him and he sounded like he was 10 years old.

To me, Leinhart sounded like a crybaby. I can not believe he actually said "I think we are the best team" after loosing that game. Dude, you lost!

The worst thing for Leinhart is that loosing that game cost him millions. Last year, he could have been drafted #1, now he might go as low as #5 some say, but probably most likely #3 in the draft.

But at least he graduated, which is more then Vince Young might be able to say.

Either way, they are both great QB's!

Well I would rather watch Young do the Heisman pose than listen to his interviews. My god I am glad that kid can run and throw because he can barely compose a sentance.

No but he is an AMAZING athlete and took over that game. He deserved the MVP and Championship. That being said if he wants a Heisman come back next year and play for it. He didnt win it this year, and no matter how this game came out Bush deserved it. Its not like Bush was not a factor in the game, I believe they said on ESPN radio he had 250 or so all purpose yards (rushing, recieving, and kick off return) and 1 TD. Thats not exactly chump change.

And how is Leinart a bad loser because he said he didnt think the best team won. I couldnt even count how many times that has been said by athletes after losing a game. Shouldnt he feel he has the best team. Just because the Cavaliers beat the Pistons the other day doesnt mean the Pistons are a worse team. Leinart is exactly right, Texas made plays down the stretch to win the game. It was so close and competitive I wouldnt say either team is better than the other. If they played 10 times I would pick USC 5 and Texas 5.

Depending on what team has what spot would determine if I would pick Leinart or Young. Leinart would be a better quarterback for a team like Indy, Chicago, or Cincinatti with a good line and good recievers. He is more accurate and is imo a better passer than Young. If I had a team like the Saints, Green Bay, Houston who has a poor line or maybe not the number of good playmakers I would pick Young because he can make plays all by himself.

It is not so much what he said, but how he said it. But, let's not make too much of this....these guys are really just kids in a big hype situation.

The Leinhart vs Young and who will do better in the pros is something we will never know until it happens. And even after they go pro, we may still not know. Heck, it could be years before they take a snap and often times we see QBs play like hell and then change teams and we want to lick their boots.
