Default Almost bought a new SUV today

Almost....got sucked in, but ran.

I currently have a 2002 Suburban Z-71 with 72k on it. A new one is 51k MSRP, Red tag sale it is at $41k. I have $3k on my GM card I can use, that gets it down to 38k for a 51k vehicle. My CPA tells me I can write off $25 off my taxes if I buy it before December 31st. That would give me $8k back in feb/march when I get my refund. That brings the price of the car down to $30k. Now, I am getting excited right?

Wrong!

They will only give me $13k on a trade. ****, I could not come close to replacing this truck for $13k if I tried. I'll have the dam thing paid-off in 18 months, so I decided to walk, as I don't feel like financing another car for 60 months.

Wife is totally cool. She wants a Wrangler when her truck is paid-off and wants to still keep it. Sounds good to me. I love Wranglers.

But, I got to tell you, these deals are really tempting. Almost sucked me in.
Think about it, $30k for a brand-new 2006 loaded to the gills Suburban (plus tax etc...)

Almost did the same thing a few months back.A 05 Z71 fully loaded with on-star and leather, extended cab with the 4 doors.Sticker was $39,900 but with the employee pricing I could have got it for $28'500.It was damn tempting.

Funny how we raise Wranglers and sinck Mustangs.

I have had three Jeeps over the years. If I buy something it will be either a really nice Sport or Sahara...used of course. I have time though.

I grew up with Jeeps. We've had a Cherokee and 2 Grand Cherokees... all 2wd though since you dont need a 4x4 out here. I want a 4x4 one for playing with off road.
