Default Sniffers

Im not sure if anyone else has this going on in your area, but we do... They have set up Emission Control Centers "sniffers" in certain sections of town, and as you drive by it checks your ****. They are set up with camera's and if you set it off it takes your picture and sends you a ticket in the mail. Kinda like running a traffic light.. Im not sure how sensitive these things are but it looks like there taking this pretty serious now.

or in any other major city for that matter. I doubt they'll be allowed. They removed traffic light cameras because they weren't consistantly accurate enough. I doubt they'd keep a smog sniffer...

the lights here work... they just suck cuz the yellows seem short, and the speed limit in town is 50mph, traffic usually moves 60-65. on another street that doesnt have cameras the limit is 50 put iv been passed while doin 70 down it

I like the red light cameras. I see too many dumbasses blatantly running red (not yellow) lights. I mean 2 or 3 cars at a time. Geez, They had to see that yellow light from 4 cars back. I welcome the chance to be the 1st at a stop light myself, escpecially if a ricer with a big ole wing and a huge fart can pulls up next to me. LOL. Plus I've seen what happens when someone is going on green and someone is flying through red. It aint pretty.

Damn, that is gay. I remember when I did safety / emissions inspections for Wake County in NC about 3 years ago...... I'd hate to have some station that takes a pic and sends you a ticket lol

Thats bs, I just cant see how that is accurate at all, I mean, what does it do, qucikly jam a sensor in your tailpipe? What happens if you are driving next to a crappy old truck that has no cats, what does it do then?

ours is different here.

they're using a trailer with a smog dyno in it... they block off a street like they would for construction and have bike cops looking for those who run off.

Then they claim that its "voluntary and for data measurement only" I know a few people who have seen it, all of them were not driving their mustangs thankfully.

Haven't seen them out my way or in West LA yet but I hear the inland empire gets them frequently.
