yeah, i work at a local videogame store and we got a total of 14 systems. We opened midnight tues morn and about 10 ppl came in to pick theirs up. We also have 2 core systems without the harddrive yet MS hasnt sent us any harddrives so its pretty stupid unless you like playing your games over and over

this guy from another mustang forum was talkin about how this guy kept harassing him at the post office when he pciked up his 360, and he ended up selling it to the guy for 2500$ and he bought it for like 500.

Microsoft is run by a bunch of sellout morons. That dam game system was supposed to be out over a year ago. So far, MS has lost something like $14 million dollars on that system because the company is so mis-managed. Look for all of these systems to be recelled after the year is over due to many problems. This system will go down in history as being one of the missed great marketing opportunities. Sony and others will capitalize bigtime on MS failures. By next Christmas this system will be available for under $200. To think someone will spend $2500 is really nuts.

these are pretty bold statements, but you gotta remember that 3 years ago, everyone thought the ps3 would be there by this christmas, so the fact that the 360 was supposed to be here a year ago doesn't mean that MS is mis-managed, HOWEVER, it's RIDICULOUS to have an available core system without a harddrive..and then not sell HD's separate. so then MS throws in wireless controller, headset, HD, and a few other gadgets and throws $100 more on the pricetag and everyone thinks "OHHH WHAT A GREAT DEAL OF COURSE I'LL FORK OVER MY CHILD'S COLLEGE FUND FOR IT" and THAT, is what is truly ashame

just for the heck of it, I should buy the $300 unit we have and sell it on ebay for $500 or more. Everyone else has atleast one bid on all the core systems for at LEAST the original price, so I'd end up making money no matter what

The mismanagement of MS is clearly documented in business journals such as the WSJ. Their biggest #1 problem is Bill Gates himself. He has become a wealthy hermit who micro-manages from the top-down. Nothing gets down w/o his say so and he does not make decisions. As a result, countless managers sit idle in offices with nothing to do.
The exit interviews from top managers as they leave the company in droves is very telling and even intertaining.
Keep in mind, this was a company that was founded on the principals of being different than a then floundering IBM. They were a place of creative thinking and creative problem solving...their focus was on the customer. Now, they have become worse then IBM ever was and their lack of skunkworks with the new micro-managed approach is going to run them down the tubes.
MS tries to exist now solely on creating laws and designing software that forces people to use it rather then addressing the pricipal focus of any good business: identifying a customer need and finding a solution.
But wait, MS has even a bigger disaster then a game system, it is a new operating system which is two years behind schedule.

Theres is no way id pay over 700 bucks for a system!!$700 is the limit for me, so until ps7, it better be under 700! People are IDIOTS, to pay over a grand for a darn video game system that has what, under 10 games out!! omg! Sooo sad! SOOOO sad!
PS3> Xbox 360 & Revolution ANYDAY!!!

once my gamestop makes ps3 available to reserve, I'm going to. Not bc I care to play it, but I KNOW that there will be some people who DIDN'T reserve it and missed out and would fork over big bucks for it. While I'm at it, I just may reserve a few...

PS3 for me. I hate Mycrowshaft. If I got extra cash laying around, Ill probably get a couple and sell one. I got a PS2 from Circuit not long after they came out even though I wasnt supposed to be able to purchase one.(employees werent allowed) It pays to have manager friends..

As bad as microsoft may be, he is, by far, the richest guy in the world and holds down the title for quite some time now. he must of done something right.... right? He doesnt make his money on anything other than his opperating system. Not only is it easy to use, but its readily available and EVERY program is tailored to work around it. So unless if something drastically changes, he is going to be on top for a while. Look at microsoft ME. Its a prime example of blakes argument. Who actually HAD that opperating system? it was a "hold-off" for XP. It was a waste of download for whoever had it.
