Default Might do something crazy...

Ok, here's the deal. I'm thinking of asking my g/f to marry me. Her 26th birthday is in a few days so I figure its as good of time as any. I know a lot of you guys on here are young whipper snappers but I aint gettin any younger or prettier. I'm 24 and we've lived together for 1 1/2 years. We get along great and my whole family loves her and her family is cool as hell. I want to but I'm nervous as hell just thinkin about it. Most of my friends are married with kids and are couple years younger than me. I found her a ring and am having it held at zales and have to (maybe) pick it up tomorrow. She's cool as hell and puts up with almost all of my bullsh*t. What do yall think? She loves stangs too

You guys look like a nice couple. If she is as sweet as she is nice looking, I say make it happen.

If she were my daughter, I would advise her to either get married or move out. I hate to see young women live with guys and then they don't commit. I say a 1 and a half years is long enough. If you don't know by now, then crap or get off the pot - LOL

Go for it man. It seems like if people don't live together until they get married, they see a different person when they finally do move in together and second guess if they should have got married. You have already found out you can live together so I don't think you have any worries and everything should be GREAT.

Also maybe you should propose the day after her birthday. She might be expecting something big on a big day. Get her something small and normal on her birthday and then pop the question the day after and I assure you she will be more surprised because she will have NO idea she is getting anything the day after.

If you guys have talked about marriage, I guarantee that she is expecting a ring on a day like her birthday or Christmas, or of course Valentines Day. Go for it man and think about what I said Take it from someone that is not a young whipper snapper. GOOD LUCK!

Also don't get married on a day like her Birthday or any other day you usually spend big money because, you will always have to remember that you have to do double duty on those days

Just saying the day after her bday she would not be expecting ANYTHING so it might be more of a surprise.

Go for it but some ring advice. Check your local paper, pawn shops, trader papers for rings. Get a jewlers magnifying glass and do alot of reasearch you can find as good a ring as any jewler would have for 25% of the cost.

There are always guys or girls who were enganged/married and are getting divorced and want to sell. I got my finacee her ring at a local pawn shop for $250 and it appraised for $3,000. There are deals to be had, and most of the time its NOT at a jewler.

Besides no diamond is ever brand new so dont think you are getting a junker. if worst comes to worst you can get the diamond reset in her preference of metals for $100.

Yeah deals are great but come on...I would not want a ring that someone else wore...I would would rather fork out $3000 rather than pay $250 for a ring that was someone elses. I would be pissed if I was a girl and found out my husband bought my ring from a pawn shop.
