Loudest whine

k..i want a s/c with the loudest whine and keep the hp below 400....so that people know wat i have under the hood.....kb, vortech, paxton, whipple..(preferably vortech or kb) anyone know how to answer my ?.

shad0ws 11-10-2005 11:22 AM

Just from all the videos I've watched, I think the KB's have the loudest whine. Just watch the Sick Cobra Compilation on streetfire.net

When you see the black Cobra start spitting rubber and doing all that **** then you will know. I believe he has a 2.2 Twin Screw KB SC. He goes by GoneIn10sec on some forums.

Yea KB...Pretty sure t-trim and paxton are the loudest for centis

Roots style, twin screw SC's are the ones that whines. Centrifugal superchargers make a noise compareable to a squeaky belt.

Actually the KB 1.7's for the GT's arent the loudest out there. Prochargers and Vortech S trims are pretty loud. Yes, the cobra with a KB is a loud one, but most of the KB GT owners say they are pretty quiet.

I nominate springstang for having the loudest whine. <rofl> Boy can that girl complain! :)

stang00 11-10-2005 03:09 PM

ahh roflcopter

Islander03GT 11-10-2005 03:20 PM

KB's are only loud when you get on it. They're damn near silent when cruising.

A vortec S trim will probably be the loudest.

PureStang 11-10-2005 03:24 PM

how bout a vortech V-1 s/c

IceMan 11-10-2005 05:54 PM

::sigh:: does horsepower not matter? Just the whine?

Wait for the 2v whipple and just be done with it...

I know the roots blowers whine pretty loud....There is a video on 3.8mustang of the supercoupe setup on a stang and its mega loud deffintly go with kb.

stanger00 11-10-2005 06:35 PM

get a twin screw those fuggers are loud when you get on it. people look at my car funny at stop lights when its idling because it has a different sound. its nothing comparable to a twin screw at idle though. in wot the s/c is pretty quiet. i think my s trim is louder then a P1SC at idle

mine dont sound like a squeaky belt. it sounds like something rachiting and something else. some guy asked if my bearings were going bad in my engine. i could only reply with a i dont know maybe. the supercharger has been on my car for 5k miles so far.

MachGT 11-10-2005 06:44 PM

install some non ford rear gears and you will get one hell of a whine!

PureStang 11-10-2005 07:04 PM

im already planning to buy them....im going with what my friends neighbor says...he has a build 5.0 w/ 3.73s and wished he went w/ 4.10s or 4.30s...so either one of them

MachGT 11-10-2005 07:23 PM

I like my 3.73's but thats with a blower....

If all you care about is the whine you should just get this

If its a whine you want, a centrifugal is your choice. KB's make awesome power at low rpms but you want hear it as loud at idle as you would a Vortech, Procharger etc.

Here is my clip at idle:
