Default Are people trying to scam me?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MESE%3AIT&rd=1

I know this may be a tad long, but please read. I just put my ps2 and some stuff on ebay(I listed info in "classified" section), and already have gotten weird emails. The first one is from a guy "kbill34556677"

Dear Seller, I will Like to Proceed with the payment as soon as possible...but before i do i will like to ask a few question. Is it new?does it have any problem? If not okay, how many do have for sale and forget to include your email address.I will Like to pay via moneyorder, But i will like to here from you ok .So in you reply to me send me your full name, address and phone number. ? Thank you

so I thought it was just a dumb guy so I repled and answered his questions, and he replied with:

Thanks for your reply, actully i work with the United Nation Development Program (UNDP) human relation department and we render assistance to humanity worldwide expecially to afica. I am incharge of donations to the needy and to this end i will be happy to offer you $350.00.
I will be going to the bank to make your payment with postal money order (western union auction payments) and as soon as my payment is approved by the bank, they will contact you through your email address and update you on payment status if the payment is approved or denied.
I will be paying all the shipping cost of the item to destination which you dont have to pay a dime. I am buying the item for a less priviledge homes in africa, to this end, as soon as you have been notified by the bank that, my payment as been approved, i will like to have the item shipped, cos once payment is approved, a tracking number will be sent to you which will allow you to track the payment to your address online.
If this is okay by you, let me have your full name and address as it will be written on the money order so that, i can proceed with the payment immediately.I will be waiting to hear from you soonest.

strange...so then I got another email from someone about an hour ago. Yet again, another weird ebay screenname....

Hello i am willing to purchase your item and i will be paying you $300 auction price for each item ok so i need as much as possible quantity of the items available for sale and i will be paying via western union auction payment (bidpay)ok and once you receive the approved confirmation email saying the payment has been approved i want it shipped out today ,please read this quetion very well before you reply cause if i made payment i will not like to withdraw my payment cause i will be loosing so me money please , DONT WORRY ABOUT THE SHIPPING COST BECAUSE I WILL BE USING MY FEDX ACCOUNT ALL YOU WILL DO FOR ME IS TO DROP IT FOR ME ONCE I SEND YOU THE SHIPING LABEL ,if you agree with my offer kindly send me your NAME,ADDRESS,QUANTITY AVAILABLE FOR SALE asap ok because of the urgent need of the item asap ok i await your reply. thanks.

Again...very strange...offering to pay more than I asked, wants a different payment form(even after i said PAYPAL ONLY) and also offering to pay for shipping. But why?????? I'm 95% sure its a scam, but any ideas guys?

Obviously this is a scam because you have 0 bids but numerous email offers. They look at a sellers icon to see how much ebay experience you have and they prey on it. Pay Pal has saved my azz a couple of times.

Its a scam and its all over. Same thing happen to me when I put my SVO up for sale in local auto trader. He wanted to pay me $12k since he had only that check for that amount but I had to send him $4k back to him plus put car in a container. I was only asking $5k since SVO was stock (removed and sold all go fast goodies). I told him I had a friend that his cousin lived around that area and he would like to pick up the money and asked to give a phone # after that all email stopped. Its all a scam so dont fall for it http://rhodesian.server101.com/west_afican_scams.htm . BTW how much did you want for it. I have yet to own a ps2.

It is a scam man. I got the same emails when I was trying to sell my truck online. Always look for the obvious such as: Do they ask questions that are already answered in your listing, do they offer to pay more than what you are asking, are they wanting to use some sort of payment such as Western Union, is their grammar good (seriously). And also check their ebay ID to see if they have any feedback. If their feedback is marked "private", I would stay away also.

I hope this helped out.
