Default Heart warming story...

This isn't a joke or anything, but a month or 2 ago my mom said her friend at work was sending a care package to some homeless orphans in africa. They don't ever get toys brecause of their impoverished community. Little kids over there love hot wheels and nerf toys. My mom got together some items and I bought them a few hot wheels. Today I got an email of thanks from their sponsor along with the attached pic. Its amazing what $10 worth of hotwheels means to someone who has nothing. Think about that next time you walk out to you $18,000 stang. Have a nice day.

It's amazing what a little bit of your time or money can do for people.
I belong to the local Optimist Club here and we do alot of similar things but for local children. In December we do a Shop with a Cop program. We give each kid (75 of them) $100 to buy whatever they want. They get to ride 1 on 1 with a Cop from the local police station to the Wal-Mart. You'd be amazed, the kids can spend the $100 on anything they want and most of them buy gifts for their families instead of stuff for themselves.

Yea, we did some stuff like that in my Marketing class my senior year of high school for a local house for absused kids. We raised enough money for them to have a pretty nice spree at walmart, but most of them bought stuff like clothes and shoes and some stuff for their friends/family, when most of us wouldve bought a playstation or something.

Funny you mentioned that as I saw today a women with her 8 year old son with a t shirt that had Liberty City Optimist Club. She was using the Automated Self Checkout at Grocery store and started yelling real loud at her son with frustration thought she would have had a bid more patience since kids love using those machines.
