Default So why did you choose a mustang?

Impulse buy? Something you thought about for a while? Got a good deal? Bought for you?

Personally, I knew nothing about cars, and didnt care to soup up a civic with tousands of dollars of mods and make it as fast as a stock gt. So I opted for a car that came fast out of the factory. My other options, at the time, were camaro z28/ss and a trans am. I just didnt care for imports. I also like mustangs' huge aftermarket of body mods. There are just too few mods u can do to make a camaro or transam stand out from the rest.

I had a few friends with Mustangs and I fell in love with the sound of a good exhaust...I actually went to the dealership to look at a Prelude (Used to be into the import scene) until I saw the Stang parked next to it. After driving both it was obvious. Now I am going to start looking for a job that pays more or a cheap *** bucket for the commute to and from work.

Actually it was almost a splite second decision to get the stang.. I want a 3000gt vr-4 for the longest time and looked at several but i couldent find a good one with low miles that wasent 40 grand. Then i was about to buy an evo and almost bought it until i found my mustang and a guy was at the dealership i bought it from with a 02 full exhaust and a blower and thats all i needed.. i bought mine on the spot.

Well I had looked at them since the 99's came out just could'nt find one I really liked. Then I test drove a 03 Mach 1 and fell in love. Then I decided to wait till Monday and it was sold before I got off work that day.The same dealer had a white GT fully loaded but they were trying to screw me over on my Z71 I was trading in.Left there and went to another Dealer and there was the DSG GT that I had test drove a few weeks before.Drove it home that day

When I was 14 I would see them crusing up and down Bergenline Ave NJ with loud exhausts and it was love at first site. My wife knows that no matter how much money we make I will always be driving a stang.

When I was about 13, my cousins boyfriend got a 98 cobra. He had an offroad h and flows on it. I knew then and there, that was my car. Then, he went and had it supercharged and had longtubes put on with turndowns. Talk about loud. That was all the reassurance I needed. And to think I used to want a turbo honda ( I still wouldnt mind having one, but there will always be a mustang parked right beside it.)

In 2002, my dad bought my mom a mineral grey brand spankin new gt. We had always been a chevy family so I was pissed-until I drove it. I usually wash my parents cars for them at my house so I got to spend a little time behind the wheel (grampa-ing it of course ) My mom eventually traded the stang in for an explorer and my dad about crapped. Every day I went to work I passed a white 04 gt sitting on a local car lot and fell in love with it. I test drove it on an unscheduled break from work and took it to show my dad. My dad was looking at the same car. He was pissed again, poor guy. He just bought an 05 expedition (two-tone laser red & champagne) and now thats his new baby.

There was this AWESOME competition orange GT sitting on a used car lot close by that I would drool over every time I saw it. The day after Thanksgiving I went to carmax and test drove a 2001 Mineral Gray GT and a green Honda Element. Chose the Mustang because the Element needed new brake pads and made a noise like mario going down a pipe whenever you turned the wheel all the way left.

I've never regretted that decision

When I was 15-16 I saw the 99 body style and fell in love. I ended up owning a 95 v6 though Eventually after getting a good enough job, I was able to afford the 2003 GT that I have today.. now that purchase was pretty impulse. I had been looking for them late at night at the local dealerships. I had to buy from a dealership to get finianced. I finally found this car sitting on the lot, it was the only 03-04 GT 5 speed I could find in this city. So I went back and bought it the next day.. turns out I use to see this car everyday on my way to high school, the previous owner use to work at a place on the way. I didn't even care about the color when I bought it but then I fell in love with it. I get a ton of compliments about the DSG of course.. the only person to ever tell me they didnt' like it was my boyfriend at the time of purchase, which he likes hondas so **** him

and then i didn't care about making it faster until I started reading mustang forums, that's who I blame for the addiction that and racing camaros lol

I bought a mustang bc its cheap.. lets face it it is.. the parts are also cheap as dirt and you can find people to work on them for cheap 2... wut else can you buy for under 15-20-25k w/ mods and smoke enzo's? nothing thats why mustangs kick ***...plus they actually look good and have alot of nice kits availble - ya you can spend more.. but wut more pimp than a procharged roush convertible with a tonneau and 19's? - with all the bells and whistles - nothing... in a GT with 6 or 7 grand you can tell an 06 Zo6 to kiss your grits... thats badass - besides camaros are P.O.S.

My wifes Uncle has always loved my car and the 06.

Well he came by yesterday after he just bought a 04 V6 Vert. It's Red Fire with a white top and white leather with OU stitched into the headrest.Only 19000 miles with some type of a body kit on it (kinda a mix of Roush and Kalamari) looked pretty damn good. Also had some type a dual exhaust.

Now this guy has a 78 Vette that's super nice.A new Harley Road King and alot of other toys.He said that he just had to get a Mustang after seeing mine all the time.

My mom had a 68 fastback when her and my dad first met. My dad had a 68 Camaro SS. I guess muscle was in the family and I chose Mustang. I spent thousands and thousands on my old Ram on looks and was ready for something fast. I remember wanting a Mustang when I was a kid. My friends step brother had and still has a 92 Foxbody and loved it when I was a kid. My mom has an 04 Mustang so I would have to say it is a family thing.

I wanted a TransAm but when I drove a 2000 it felt like I was driving a brick and was so cramped in the driver seat. Beautiful car with T-tops but just very uncomfortable.

Well, in 99 my aunt leased a brand new 99 Cobra and fell in love there. But when it finally came to time for a car I was looking at Prelude's and my friend gave me a ride home in his brothers car. 2 weeks later, I own his brother's car, lol

I've always been a Ford man, so the Mustang was a must have. I started with a 1968 Mustang Coupe w/302 Automatic in 1986. Then upgraded to a 1991 Mustang LX 5.0 Vert in 1994. Next came the 2001 Mustang GT in 2003. And finally I've acquired a 1984 Mustang GT350 this year. The 84 is my project car. I've got my eyes on a 1971 Mach1 and I'll have if things go right here in the next coupe of weeks.

So I guess you can say I "Bleed Blue".....

I have thought that the mustang was one of the hottest looking cars out there all my life. Mine was kind of an impulse buy, more like unexpected. I saw a 2001 GT convertable for sale that was $13,000. Then one day I drove by a 2000 cobra for $15,000. My parents would not let me get a loan out so those went into my dreams. Then one day my friend told me about this one red one. As i was driving up to it, it looked like new and i was like ****. another dreamer. they were asking $5500, so i called my dad right away and he said that it sounded like a good deal and he would look at it. I had enough to pay for cash and have a couple grand left over so we called them up. the cool thing was that i actually knew who the owner was, and was my sister's friend's mom's car. They never drove it in winter, or barely during summer, so they decided to sell. WOO FOR ME!

because a LS1 z28 costed too much at the time. this was late 2001 when i bought my GT. plus my mom liked this one i was supposed to get a 99 5 speed with 45k miles on it that cost 12k, instead i got this auto gt with 11k miles for 16k.

Well my first car was a Buick Regal GS, supercharged from the factory, rather quick for the weight of the car. Well the tranny went out on it, I knew I wanted an American muscle car and was not settling for anything less than a V8. After talking my parents into it and finding a great deal, I got a 2002 Sonic Blue GT with 36K miles on it for 12K bux. I got this is November of 2004.
Then some kid ran a stop sign, T-boned me in july and totalled it. So then after a month I found my current 01 white Stang with the Saleen kit, for 11,500 bux and 36K miles on it.

I've owned a Mustang for longer than most of you guys have been alive.

I honestly don't remember what originally got me interested in Mustangs, but I know I've wanted one since I knew what a car was. Before my 16th birthday, my dad and I looked at lots of cars together and I settled on a 69 Mustang coupe with a 302. That was the car I learned to turn a wrench on. That was the summer of 1977 and I kept that car until 2000. In 98 I bought my 93. Now my wife has a 96 Cobra and we're first in line at the local Ford store for a 2007 GT500. There will always be a Mustang (or two or three) in our garage.

Yeah, nothin' like a deep fried squid body kit to make a Stang look good.

I had a 95 Chevy S10 and was tired of running mid 16's... I was looking at doing a V8 swap or a built 4.3 in that but then decided I wanted something more comfortable and faster out of the box.

I was originally looking for a Z28 Camaro, or a Grand Prix GTP. Drove a GTP and it sucked. Camaros were too expensive. So I test drove a new 03 Mustang and liked the balance of the car compared to the Camaro. It wasnt as fast but much more comfortable and "liveable"

Went to buy the brand new one, but looked at a used one first, since it was the color i wanted... and thats what I bought.

I hate Camaros that talk crap about Mustangs. I love the look of them. And I just wanted to shut their mouths and I have on countless occasions. Also I only had to pay 4,000 after I traded in my Explorerand started on the great LT-1 killer and I now have my eyes on a LS-1 and LS-2 killer.. bwahahaha I'm a ford family as well
