So yesterday i cruised down to Phil Long Ford in Denver, and finally have a mach 1 chin spoiler on order now, anyways i park the stang and walk on up and one of the sales people starts asking me about my stang.

Dealer- "Whatcha got in there?"
Me- "Not much, a few minor mods, nothing huge"
Dealer- "What size engine ya got in that?"
ME- "4.6l v8......(duh)...."
Dealer- "Ahh, I figured you probably had a big block under that hood with that big ol scoop on it"
Me- "Uhm,... that is the stock hood... it came that way"

So... That was wierd... Dealer thought my stock hood was aftermarket, diddnt seem to believe me that i diddnt put it on.

Then, I go to the service department to order the Mach 1 Chin Spoiler.

I ask the guy if they sell mach 1 chin spoilers.

PartMonkey - "Hmm, never heared of a mach 1"
Me - "it is a mustang"
PartMonkey - "What is a chin spoiler?"
I explain basically what it is. He then proceeds to look for rear spoilers, i explain again and he finally finds it.
PartsMonkey - "Well ill be damned, here it is. You want an 02 or 03?"
Me - "Whats the difference? (diddnt think there was one)
Parts Money - "35 bucks from what i can tell"

so i took the cheaper one.

i dont think i have ever been to a dealership where the dealer actually knew what the hell he was talkiong about.

Anyways.... anyone know the difference between the 02 or 03 mach 1 chin spoiler? Not sure which i ordered. The cheaper one.

 

With the time, energy and resources, you can put any damn engine in it you want. ROFL

Yah, it was a for dealership, same place i bought my mustang.

I JUST got a call from ford, the parts-monkey told me that they now have this on backorder, it will be next thursday instead of this thursday.

This is how it happened with MT, and you see where that went.

Same thing happening to Ford. I have bad luck with chin spoilers



here is a random thought i had last night.
I have a buddy who grew up in dodge city nebraska.
If there is a ford dealership there, would it be "Billbobs Ford of Dodge City"?

that would be,..... strange.

 

I got my chin spoiler on ebay for $62 shipped a week ago

 

Wow, that totally stumps me.
I dont know, they had the parts on this blueprint schematic lookin thing, they had 2 models of the chin spoiler, one for the 02 and one for the 03. the model numbers were different, the prices were different, however, both of them looked identical, it looked just like the chin spoilers CDC made.

anyway, they are on backorder. So... next thurs/fri ill either be really stoked because it is what i wanted, or really angry cause it is something totally different.

did the mach 1's have a different spoiler? maybe that was the confusion, spoiler vs. chin spoiler.
