In order to get long tube headers. And he's willing to sell it to me for around $200. It's uncatted, and was on his '01 cobra.


1) Wouid it fit my car?

2) should I get it being that longtubes are #3 on my list of mods I'm getting after #1 new rims and #2 lowering springs. and if i got it, i'd just hafta get rid of it once i get the longtubes. Would the sound be better with the bassani?

It will fit, and your car will be VERY loud. You will have the loudest exhaust combo available for mustangs which is o/r xpipe and SLP LM cat back. It is almost obnoxiously loud.

 

I would not bother getting it since you are getting headers as this will be something else you will have to sell. When I get my stuff done I will have to sell my catted Bassani xpipe.

Dont buy it danny. Just wait for the headers to come and get your new xpipe then. Off road and slp is just painfully loud.

 

Consider this, on your year of car if you put long tubes on you will have to yank them off to get your tranny out if you ever have to do this. Local Mustang Specialty shop suggested I go with mid-length headers to avoid this, plus the long tubes hang much lower than stock or mid-length headers, if your lowered you could drag sometimes.

 

I have hooker LTs with a matching Hooker X and bullets and its not loud at all! ....its just doens't cut it for me!

 

Hookers and flowtechs dont require pulling the headers to pull the trans. Just food for thought.

 

I will NEVER get shorty headers. For probably the same price to install, longtubes give more hp and cost a few hundred more.

Oh, and I already have an offroad x-pipe with my slp loudmouth. Obnoxious is an underestimate.



And I'm just leaning toward not getting his. I just feel bad bc this is the same guy that installed my cold air, x-pipe, and catback all for free. He also bought my stock spoiler from me so I woudlnt have to sell it elsewhere when I got my steeda wing.

 

Well, tell him to sell it on ebay or help spread the word, but dont buy it just cause he installed some stuff for you.
