a friend of mine bought an 01 gt that has a 03/04 cobra bumper on it. he wants to trade even for my cobra r bumper. my question is, will i need to buy aftermarket sideskirts for this bumper? he also has cobra sideskirts and the bumper doesn't have the chin/lip thingy.

 

You don't HAVE to but I don't think it looks right with the stock GT/V6 side skirts.

 

I would disagree. It looks fine with the GT sideskirts. That's what I had.

 

GT as in normal sideskirts? my friend has regular side skirts (same as me) and the bumper doesn't hang lower than the side skirts.

i'd like to pick up a pair of side skirts and a lip for the bumper but i can't seem to find any that aren't a fortune. any aftermarket or 3rd party brands for cobra or saleen side skirts?

 

Yes normal side skirts. the bumper didn't look off or anything.

 

The lip is expensive. Try tousley ford at 1 800-328-9552 and ask for Steve. They should be able to get you the best price. Expect to pay about 180 bucks just for the lip. I think that is what I paid. I run my stock side skirts with the bumper and it looks ok. The bumper doesnt hang lower so that is a plus.

 

i'm in ny so unless that's a distribution center, i'll probably pay out of my *** for shipping. anyways, we swapped bumpers and fitted the cobra r on his stang. i just have to get mine repainted. i think i'll go with the vmptunning foglights for my car and then buy the 03/04 cobra fog lights and bulbs. i kinda hate hids (even though they're bright) so i think a good fog and headlight (bulb) combo would do the trick. then i'll worry about side skirts and eventually the lip.
