Default Happy Veterans Day that are members here!

With everyone on facebook anymore and being flooded by the feeds over there, I thought I would take the time to remember those that are on our site here.

Thank you all that served and help keep us safe from harms way everyday, and those who have served.

While I was at work today I met a combat wounded Vietnam Vet. He was also in the special forces. I am a veteran but that guy is what this day is really about.

Today was remembrance day here too and there was a lot of ceremonies. Theres one on Sunday I`ll be going to. I`ll be going this year. No excuses , I`m not working that day. Theres an old guy called Hugh Reid I know. He lived two doors down from me when I was a boy of 7 or 8.
One of the original Chindits fighting the Japs behind enemy lines in Burma in during WW2. A right hardy bastard in his day but chilled with old age.
He used to love gardening and became a church elder. Some old guys don`t get the respect from the younger generation they should. He lives in an old folks home in my home town and I don`t think he has any family.
I have this urge to go and speak to him just to say thanks and have a chat with him. He might remember me and he knows my dad so maybe that could be an ice breaker.
I don`t know. It feels kinda awkward. I know that when these old guys are gone it won`t be the same.

They risked and gave their todays for our tomorrows.

I`ve got a charity auction of a collection of ***** on ebay for anyone that fancies a laugh/look.
