Default Riding Gear Suggestions.

As I am upgrading to a 600cc bike soon, I think its time I get some decent riding gear. I have no idea what to look for.

Just a few notes:

I will not be riding in COLD weather. Or the rain. This is simply for cruising with buddies, a couple times a week. Not a daily driver, or anything of the sorts.

I don't want anything flashy. Plain as can be. I basically want the bare minimum. I'm thinking a jacket and some gloves.

Also, I won't be wearing those ridiculous boots. I do plan on going places via my bike and I am not about to roll up in those ridiculous boots. Lol.

By the way. I'll be getting either a new CBR600RR or a GSX-R600.

Both awesome bikes!!! Congrats cousin. I have a wide variety of gear for all kinda weather. But yeah, bare minimum, I always wear gloves and a jacket. I have a Joe Rocket textile jacket with pads inside for warm to hot weather, and an Icon Leather with Icon field armor that i wear underneath for winter. Don't skimp. Yeah good gear is expensive but its worth it to have if, God forbid, you go down brother. Also, get some good gloves and a good helmet. I have several helmets, 2 HJC's, a Shoei, and an Icon. You can never be too protected. Hope you enjoy your new bike, put up some pics when ya get it! Stay safe and keep the rubber side down

I didn't post anything in this thread, because I always wear a one-piece suit and all the goodies. And I think I've only ever seen one other guy riding in full gear like me lol.

Personally I can't stand the joe rocket jackets, and others of the sort. I'm a fairly small guy, and none of those every seem to fit right. They always make me feel ******* huge. When I first bought my bike I always just rode in good blue jeans, a thicker long sleeve shirt, and gloves/boots/helmet. But I quickly realized even wearing that, I'd stand no chance if I low-sided a corner or slid across the pavement in any way doing highway speeds.

Icon's website

Joe Rocket's website

Knee dragger's website

Alpinestar's website

Chapparal Motorsport's website

Tourmaster/Cortech's website

That should be enough to get you headed in the right direction. Again, its all a matter of personal preference and how much you wanna spend cuz. Good luck and post up them pics when ya get yer new gear, and pics of the bike!

I'm going to be a commuter rider but will only gear up in a Icon jacket and gloves with jeans. But if I were an occasional corner carver only riding for fun and pushing the bike to its limits I would suit up in leathers with armor and boots. But thats just me. I'll be picking up a 600 in the next week or 2. Something in the 4-5500 range, I aint rich

I'll probably just do the jacket and gloves. I won't be pushing the bike to the limit. I'll be cruising going 50 mph in the country. Lol.

yeah you say that now..just wait until you feel that throttle.

buy leather..wear it. or lose your skin..really your call. I ride in a t-shirt every blue moon..Keep your lid on and your ankles protected. I've seem pictures of ankles literally shaved down by pavement. or shattered. the rest is honestly up to you. although, it really only takes one down to get the message.

AGATT- all gear all the time.

most of the time
