Default Does your mustang feel like its a kite on a windy day?

My car is the only car i have driven that on a windy day it will practically change lanes if im driving at highway speeds. Several times I have been driving down the road and, out of nowhere, a big gust of wind will hit the side of the car and i have to stiff arm the wheel to keep from pointing somewhere i dont want to be pointing, then normally my butthole un-puckers and i keep on driving. Last night, this nearly put me in the ditch.

Me and 2 of my buddies are driving from Pittsburgh PA, where we live, to Lima OH, where we go to school. I HATE driving the Mustang in bad weather, and the roads last night were TERRIBLE, but we had class in the morning, so we agreed it had to be done(plus we have made the same trip with worse weather conditions before) We were on a 2 lane state road with only about 15 miles to go, doing about 35(speed limit was 55) when we crested a little hill and big gust of wind hit the side of the car and turned us sideways. I corrected and the car straightened up and slowed down and I said a Hail Mary and all was fine but **** that was scary.

Basically, I'm asking if anybody else has had a similar issue? I feel like my problem is too much wind is getting under the vehicle. Do you think if the car was lowered this might make the issue better or even fix it?

Nothing that bad but I can feel the car being pushed around in stong wind. Since I've got a really stiff suspension any little movement in the steering will shoot it off into a direction.

When I had mine it was stable as hell...huge wide tires, lowered with fairly stiff suspension... wind wasnt an issue.

Nope, no problems at all.. Now the Mountaineer on the other hand, that's an entirely different story.

It's because you're like ten inches off of the ground with those tiny *** tires.

I been pushed around but the winds have to be gusting over 25-30mph for it to be a factor.

I don't see that problem often, just my hood wobbles and looks like its gonna fly up.

I drove a full size Gmc Sierra for 10 years before my mustang. Wind would blow me where it wanted me to go. My stang is pretty stable. My only problem is cheap Sumitomo tires in the rain, but only in the ruts filled with water. Flat wet roads it does just fine. Puddles or ruts, I'm up on the wheel.

Agreed on that. I don't think any car is absolutely stable when the wind is gusting. Hell even sitting still in any car you wil feel the force of a good gust of wind. I just pretend I'm a nascar driver and try to hold my line...

At high winds (25+) I have been pushed around... but my suspension needs some work so I blame it on that.
By work I mean I need to replace stuff, not upgrade (I wish)

Mine is a little softer than I prefer but it's MUCH MUCH better than my old Fox convertible.

Mine pretty much sits on the ground, so no. My friend's lotus gets tossed around, it's hilarious.
