Default Who's Gotten Snow? For the Sake of The Lounge

The Lounge has been dead so I decided to make a thread about anything.

It's snowed for the first time this winter here in Arkansas and Northeast Texas. I had to go to the grocery store about and hour after it started, less than an inch on the ground and people were driving like it was the apocalypse. I could head fire trucks in the distance, and pulling the E-brake sliding (in the girlfriend's car) like Vaughn Gittin Jr. I'm a badass, what, come at me Bro! We've got about 4 inches on the ground, twice that in the pants, WOOT.

I've never driven the Mustang in the snow, due to the natives. Anyways, how's your weather, car, anything?

We've been hit hard like 4 times already in Ky. The roads will all ice over, and you slide everywhere. Luckily my college and workplace are both in walking distance, so the stang never leaves the garage.

I would kill for a black Ford Raptor... I love those, and need a winter vehicle.

We've had snow 4 times in the last month and the forecast says 3" of ice tonight and tomorrow. I'm with Slim on the snow, F*** it ! Bring on Spring.

One inch of snow here equals 75 to 100 car wrecks per rush hour. Its a damn circus and the clowns are in charge.

I'm so ******* sick of snow. It's been a bad winter here in TN terms. I think we've had a total of a foot or so in middle TN since winter started and we typically only have 3-4" by this time at the most. It just snowed again last night about 4" and supposed to be more on the way tonight.

We had a couple of hard hits in december, one had a total of 16-20 depending how close to the lake it was. And we get a few inches a week in lake effect snow.

If you haven't seen it look in videos, the metrodome (home of the ever disappointing vikings) collapsed under all the weight of what they got.
On another note driving to the Minneapolis from brainerd (2 hours or so) I hit every form of precipitation short of acid rain

I do have to say, as much as I hate not being able to drive my car in the winter I absolutely love waking up to 3" of snow on EVERYTHING like this morning

round 2 here, yesterday, and monday. 4 inches of fluff, then sleet and hard freeze. went to work tuesday, but left after the sun went down. Roads are gonna freeze over with black ice..

round 1 was Dec 25th. 6 inches of fluffy, melted in 2 days.

This is not normal for the southeast..

I'm doing my part by spraying aerosol cans into the air to open that ozone hole some more. **** the grandkids, I'm cold now...

Today is going to be our first day above freezing. We still have snow and ice where it stays shadded. Yesterday I was looking at Google Earth images of Eagles Canyon Raceway, near Decatur, TX. Right outside of Decatur you could see where some recent satelite images showed snow on the ground, pretty neat to look at.

you know its not that driving in it alone is bad enough with these people that think its 70 degrees out and you can actually go a normal or above speed close 70mphr, but its the damn 18 wheelers that have this snow **** sitting on top of there rigs and then it comes loose and flys off to the cars below!

was behind a 3 Men and a Truck this morning and I was like that **** is starting to come loose and I backed off about 15ft and it started to go every where, it was like a mobile snow storm!

Here too. Some people didn't get the the ice and snow off their roof.

Saw a car today and the whole sheet of ice and snow bout 3 inches thick started going airborne like a nascar hood.. did about 5 flips then smashed into the road.. I was like, Wow, that was kinda cool, bet he felt like a nitrous boost when 50 lbs suddenly left his vehicle..

I've done that a few times. Those were days when the ice will fly off and all I could do is say whoops, I knew I forgot to do something.

We had just a dusting of snow and less than a half inch of sleet and this is what happened in the Richmond area. I copied and pasted this from our NBC local news website.........

"Any time you have wet roads and below-freezing temperatures, expect ice," said Dawn Eischen of the Virginia Department of Transportation.

Virginia State Police reported they handled more than 2,000 service calls as the storm moved across the state yesterday. The police counted calls received between 9 a.m. and 10 p.m.

Troopers responded to 906 traffic crashes and 463 disabled vehicles. In the division that includes the metropolitan Richmond area, the Tri Cities and the Northern Neck there were 111 crashes and 35 disabled vehicles among 425 service calls, state police said in a news release.

Most of the wrecks involved damaged vehicles, and no fatalities were reported.

On Interstate 66 in Northern Virginia, a state trooper pushing a disabled vehicle out of a travel lane escaped injury after being knocked to the ground by an out-of-control vehicle.

The "clowns" ruled !!!
