Default I fell in love today... and its not a mustang

So my friends girlfriend has a 09 challenger... She let me drive it today and WOW! I mean it had a few points I didnt like but its the fastest newer car I have ever driven. I thought the clutch was kind of odd... and i dont know how to explain that, and i was surprised how hard it was to move the shifter... but damn it got up and went

It better be the srt8 if you are calling it the fastest newer car you have driven

and hasn't everyone driven a c5 at least once

it is an str 8... they fastest time they have turned is 14.4 with 2.8 short times... And you can say they can't drive, but the people racing it drag race every weekend... It was seriously a blast to drive. As far as I know it was completely stock

Ok an srt 8 should run mid to low 13s so either they aren't very good or the car has some problems

They had some serious problems hooking up with it.... tried traction control, different launches etc... I think the weather was pretty good... i didn't get a huge chance to talk to him because he had to leave for Div V finals in Topeka, i dont know how hard they pushed the car either

challengers are fat pigs, they handle like a listing ship....

only thing they do good is look good standing still.

They need to make a 3/4 size Challenger and call it good. It's just too big, too slow, and cost too much. They do look good though.

I'm used to big cars.... I have never had a small quick car, and compared to the other larger cars I have driven (old muscle cars st up for drag racing) I loved it... from what you guys are saying though I can't wait for an opportunity to drive an actual fast mustang. The best I have driven was an 06 GT, and to be honest I wasn't overly impressed with it

As you shouldn't be. Lol.

In the world of underpowered V8s in the GT mustangs, anything is fast. But in the world of well-modded GTs and Cobras, Challengers are nothing but pigs. And only make the ricer comments that all muscle cars can do is go fast in a straight line even more true. Because turning that car is like trying to autocross a limo.

Plus, in comparison to the new 5.0 and the soon-to-be Boss, the Challenger is way behind the curve.

My GT could pull cars on Challengers (SRT-8 and R/Ts) all day long. There are a few at school and all they do is look pretty. Not quick at all, just sounds like it.

I had a stock Challenger R/T try me a few weeks ago. I was going 45 in a 40 in the left lane, he was going a little under the speed limit in the right lane, so I passed by him. He stayed back there for a few seconds while I kept a consistent speed. All of a sudden, I saw him speed up to try to catch up to me. A red light was up ahead.

At the light, I took off normally. He took off like a bat out of hell and was ahead of me. Then, he slowed down. I passed him again, going the speed limit. I then saw him pull the same ****... speed up to try to get next to me... so I let him. Both he and I punched it and needless to say, he got raped. I knew I'd have the advantage because my car is modded and weighs probably 600lbs less than his does.

It looked like I was racing a ******* tank. Plus, his wheels had to have been at least 22", so I knew that was extra weight on his car. I don't even think he knew I was a girl.

I'm sorry that a challenger is the fastest newer car you've ever driven. While I like the looks for the most part, they aren't all that fast. Like others said, they are too fat. Fastest car I've driven is a twin turbo 03 viper, followed by a 06 viper, followed by a 97 supra.
