Default IKEA!!

So i dont think i have ever been in a place and was in complete awe....over furniture. they have so much crap in that place its rediculous! If you havent been there....there is a show room with hundreds of different layouts for bedrooms, living rooms, kitchens, dining rooms, ect. it was rediculous.

i also went in there not expecting to walk out, rather to get some ideas on how to furnish my bedroom after i painted it..but i ended up buying part of the entertainment center since i couldnt fit it all in my car. it was about 5 or 6 boxes and there are still 6 more boxes i need to make it look good. so far this whole ordeal has cost me $350 with another $200 for the rest of the center. probably going to get a bed from their too, theyre soo damn comfty.

and to think i wanted to re-vamp the mustang suspension this summer. lol.

i will get pics of the half complete room tomorrow. theyre on my phone but i dont have the cable.

I have a friend that goes to Ikea all the time and always begs me to go with her. I always decline. That store looks like the Costco in that movie 'Idiocracy'. No way in hell will I go into a store where you have to use arrows to navigate it. I bet there are so many people in that place, that I would have a brain aneurysm just walking in the door. So, to save myself or others from sudden death from me becoming irritated, I just don't go.

I can't stand going into Ikea. They have way too much crap and I don't like the fact that you have to pull down everything yourself. It's not bad if you are getting a few small things, but my wife furnished her whole first apartment with Ikea stuff and it sucked waiting in line with boxes for a dresser, bed, night stands, big chair for the living room and a couch. Nothing like pushing a damn couch through a checkout line. I can however disassemble and reassemble our bed in like 5 minutes since I've done it so much.

Congrats though on the new stuff. It's always nice making your room the way you want it.

The German IKEA was so stupid...I really felt like an idiot there because I couldnt read anything. Like furniture sets that have 8 boxes I couldnt find the whole set. The lines were stupid long too and they didnt take credit or debit cards, cash only. My first time there was so full of fail that I never went back.

My girlfriend LOVES Ikea, loves it. I don't care for it too much unless it's been at least a year or two since I've been in one. We've never bought anything big from Ikea, but need a bookshelf and they have one we've been thinking about getting. I do have a coffee cup and saucer from Ikea that is my favorite coffee cup. Felt kinda dumb going through the whole big *** store and just check out with a cup though.

The only thing that made things a little better when I went, was the $.99 breakfast that's actually pretty good. The swedish meatballs aren't bad either

I'd say it's fairly cheap. Considering the saying "you get what you pay for", I believe you get a little bit more for your money just because to me it seems Ikea is just as big as Wal-mart in purchasing and inventory. Wal-mart prices are cheap becuase of how much they purchase. (Intro to economics don't fail me now.)

IKEA makes some crappy furniture. I work in the transportation industry and I can't tell you how many times we have had claims from their shitty products falling apart. It looks nice, but its crap.

Ikea has some decent stuff... Some of it is cheaply made, and that's why they can sell it so cheap, but some of it is pretty good. It really just depends on what you're looking for.

here is a rogh pic thru paint of my tv bench center thingy...lol. though have doors on all of the shelving units so none of the shelves are exposed, but its a good rep of what i did. it is about 94" wide, 65" tall, and 15" deep. its very sturdy and well built. total cost was about $600 including some cabinet handles

I agree that IKEA has some cheap stuff, but you have to start somewhere, hell I still have an IKEA dresser from 5 years ago.. You want to go to a place that's crazy go to nebraska furniture mart (mid-west thing). A little more expensive but they usually have some good deals.
