I think they are saying they would rather be driving a Chevy than a Ford. Lots of GM consumers switched to Ford because they quit production of the Camaro and the Trans Am. The only other Chevy choice for a performance vehicle is the Corvette. It was my reason for buying a new Mustang. But I love Ford now. I really do. If they had kept on building Camaro's then maybe I wouldn't have bought my Stang. I don't know for sure. I drove GM vehicles for 30 years.

No, Gm had a contract with Canada for the manufacture of the Camaro and Firebird for I think 20 years. Canada in return would give GM tax incentives. The catch of the contract was that Canada would be the only one building the Camaro . Since GM renege on their contract they can not use the Camaro name brand.

The way I see it, its obvious that GM only cares about one thing and to leave Canada and the Camaro fan boys hanging like that shows you what they are made of. I remember that Ford was going to replace the Mustang with a front wheel drive car until they got a bunch of letters from Mustang lovers. BTW that car that was to replace the Mustang was called the Ford Probe and no longer with us RIP. I dont think Ill be in a relationship where you break up like that but I guess some of us like that kind of trama in our lives. I support those who back me up.

Hp is not everything but heritage you cannot get that and you can no longer say Camaro's 40 something anniversary when 2010 comes around I say 1st anniversary start from square one.

I too switched to a mustang for the lack of availability of a new camaro, also becouse of the outageous prices of used ones. I love my mustang but if they do the camaro half the justice it deserves I'll definitely be tempted to buy one. If they half *** the design just to put something out there, I hope it never comes back and remains a "burned out rather than faded away" piece of history. On the other hand, the competition proposed should fuel a hp war between ford & chevy so everyone wins.
