O ****! R u ok. That would suck ***. I had a 79 trans am that I didn't latch the hood very well and it came up on me at like 15 mph and that freaked me out, but I would say it fails to compare to this.

the stock hoods are fiberglass, so you would expect a break

You know what? I'm glad just your hood came up. When the picture first started to load, I thought you wrecked your car. I am glad you didn't and I'm glad you're okay.

Time for a new hood!

Thanks everybody, It happened Sat. I had gone to pick up a friend up and meet some other people for a cookout. I came out of his subdivion and got on the main road and started going through the gears and got up to about 50 and............WHOOP!!!! and I do mean WHOOP!

I got slowed down and between him looking out of his side and me looking out my side we got pulled over without hitting anything. We got out and was wondering what the hell we had hit. There was glass all inside the car and the rearview mirror was pointing south.

The hood is broken into and the scoop is the only thing holding it together, the windshield is caved in, hood hinges are bent, wiper arms are bent, and two dents on the roof about 4" long and 1/2" deep.

The body shop has the car and the estiment was $3200. They are going to use all OEM parts and the boy that is going to do the repairs is one of the best I've ever seen so I'm really not worried about the outcome. Insurance is also covering the cost of new underwear

You might have a newfound talent after this. You should be able to crack walnut shells between your asscheeks now!

HAHAHA! Good way to find the good in a bad situation Black Sunshine. That's why we love you here.

But, anyways back to the subject it is very good that insurance covered it. And like FR500 said hood pins are always a good idea. Point already proven.

Got the car back today and it looks like it never happened. All OEM parts and paint work looks great, just a little dust in the car. Going to Walmart for new blummers

looks exactly like mine about 2-3 weeks ago, you must have been going 60+miles per hour when this happened, I was doing about 35-40 and my hood didn't crack that bad, scoop was ok but the winshield was a goner, cost me $260, changed it in my yard and carried off the old one.

not so TUFF at the moment huh

Thanks, I don't do much with guns so I didn't read the thread. I read it and see now what happened.
