Default The dangers of street racing

Last night me and my best friend went out club hopping, on the way home he was street racing and lost control of his car. Rolled the car several times.

Thankfully me and him somehow managed to walk out without a scratch.

Were all guilty of street racing, even myself. You never think **** like this would happen to you.

Car didn't even have 800 miles on it.

Same thing happened to me and my drinking buddy at the time in 1977. In his 66 chevelle. Ran off a curve at about 80+ and instantly slid sideways into a small oaktree, drivers side quarterpanel , then launched for a end over end flip that turned into a side rollerover for another 4 or 5 flips. Tore the chevelle almost in half. Friend was ejected, I was trapped inside with a crushed roof. Impact actually knock both of my shoes off. I crawled out the back window and with very little space. I was ok except for some neck and shoulder damage and cuts and bruises galore. ( I'm still feeling those neck and shoulder injuries to this day).

My drinking idiot buddy, was laying underneath the tree we hit. (It up rooted and flew into the road with him). He suffered a nice gash in his head and a zillion cut's and bruises. I still relive that nightmare almost daily.. Soreness aint the word for it. Glad I was on 17 yrs old.. , Sorry to ramble, but I don't get to talk about it much..

I'm glad you came out of it okay, man. I like you, Rebel.

Spinz, glad to hear you're okay, too. What the hell was he racing? I posted a 'Street Racing ****' thread yesterday and this is the kind of **** that I don't agree with. But that's besides the point.

I hope he has better luck and uses better discretion with his next car.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say there was alcohol involved. I can't imagine you going out with your best friend in Miami, club hopping and no drinking. I don't think so. Glad nobody was killed or injured, but it's funny how everything is alright now cause the checks in the mail and a new car will be on the way. Maybe he should get something he can control.

Looks like a C63 AMG from what I can read. I would like to hear the story he gave to insurance.

this will be duplicated I am sure with the next vehicle, but he may not be so lucky next time either...

I am glad that he and you are both OK, I hope there was no one else involved in the accident.

i wonder if he will learn his lesson by losing a $60,000 AMG. that car is more than i make in 2 years. he needs to have the fear of GOD put into him, like i did to my brother. (every time i let him borrow my mustang because he really needed a car for work, i literally PUT THE FEAR OF GOD into him when he borrowed it. he treated it well though. but that's for another day)

an Audi R8 as a replacement car huh? why doesn't he get a car he deserves, like a 200 HP sedan? glad to hear you guys are okay though. don't need any deaths now. he does deserve a slower car though.

he can take my 200 HP mustang, i take his car. sell it. i buy me a 2010 GT.
