Default BMW 135i, Zig get in here!

I'm looking into something a little more professional than my mustang, with a little bit of performance with it as well.

I stumbled across the BMW 135i...
The 135i features a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-6 that makes 300 hp and 300 lb-ft of torque. We pulled a 0-60-mph time of 5 seconds flat for the coupe and 5.5 seconds for the convertible. A six-speed manual is the standard transmission on all trim levels, and a six-speed automatic with manual shift control is optional. All BMW 1 Series models are rear-wheel drive
This thing has gotta run at least a 13.2, 13.3.

My question is, does anyone have any experience with these, obviously Zig does, so anything you could tell me, let me know.

There's one for sale on SVTP, but I'd be looking for a new one.
http://www.svtperformance.com/forums...-bmw-135i.html

I think they look great.

i've run across quite a few of these. with some simple mods, they can push 400hp. bmw hit a real gem with this car, i'll put my vote in on this one.

Its fast ... brakes are ******* phenomenal. A 600 dollar DME flash gets you 400hp/400TQ.

Aside from all that...its prone to the typical BMW costs.... if you get one, get one that has full maintenance and a warranty.

I've driven a bunch and I like the car a lot. Get the sport package.

that car is a pure performance machine but its TINY inside. ive been on a autocross slalom as passenger and it was a fast fun ride. BMWs are super expensive to maintain.

I'm not a big fan of BMWs, personally. I think they feel too bulky on the inside, but they look real nice. I'm with Kevin, though...if you're going to get a beamer, get an M3. 1 series BMWs look funky.

Steeda97 - That car looks small and ugly, but it looks clean really clea.

zigzagg321 - How do you know so much abot BMW's?

PColav6 - That one looks sick.

I do like BMW's, but at the same time I don't. They do a pretty good job with there cars though, but the maintance and to keep it clean/running cost a lot. So are a lot of other brands too, but that's just my opinion. I want the Dutcai 1198, but it's going to cost a lot just to have it. LOL

What about an M3? If I remember correclty it was the fastest car at one point.

zig used to work for BMW

the M3 and 135i are equally as quick....just the M3 has a v8 while the 135i is a twin turbo'd I6. i believe the 135 has more potential becasue of the turbos.

steeda...if you want something more professional than the mustang, the 135i isnt a good choice...a 335i is a better choice in this situation because there is more room. i raced a 335i the other day and he be the living tar outta me....but then again, i was on sumi's still lol

the 125i doesnt have the turbo I 6.

135 is overpriced, IMO.

i looked at them back in july when i was car shopping and they were all out of my price range. i seen most 2008's selling for mid 30's and 09's were at low 40's. too much money for a glorified go-cart.

Hrm, well I ment to refer to the 135i that the thread was originaly about, but it could have been a subcouncious slip, I don't know the damn difference lol. It was a quick car and kept up pretty well, so IDK.

especially when a 335 is only a couple thousand more...

i still dont think they are worth the cost.

I'd rather take an audi over a beemer.

twin turbo, direct injection I6... up the boost, change the fuel map and yeah, about 100hp... not rwhp. Add a CAI and an exhaust as well and its a very easily attained figure.

Gotta be careful though, BMW can void the warranty...

The early *35 cars that are supported by Dinan can get the flash without effecting the warranty... supposedly BMW programmed the newer cars to not accept any aftermarket tunes... but its all just a matter of time before someone breaks the code again.

Two door sports car seems kind of pointless to me for "business use.". . . . . I mean, might as well just drive the Mustang.

Why not just get a decent little 4-door $25k car? Just need the BMW Status?

I was going to say it probably increases the boost, but zigg beat me to it.

Of course its gonna increase the boost and change the timing and fuel maps. But 100hp is pretty ridiculous for a tune unless its a diesel.

Its just becoming impractical to pull up to a business meeting in a loud *** mustang. Especially with me being 20 years old. And I would much rather have a luxury car as it reflects upon me. Its gay but its true.

**** that....i would pull into a buisness meeting with my mustang anyways.. the way i tell how a person is if they clean their car. if you have a BMW and its filthy, i would consider the civic hatch that is pristine more professional. thats just me though.

I dont see how a mustang would look unprofessional. If you drive it like a total ***** when you pull up to your meetings, you might give the wrong signal though.
