Damn, no faith in the gear, huh??

From 2.73's to 3.72's I'd certainly hope to see a better gain than .3 ...

I'm going with 15.95 @ 88.

Lazerred6 09-21-2009 08:57 PM

I'm running friday so what ever I do you should do just a little better So I will give my guess friday night lol:p

we will see what happens when you are 3.73 and a turbo and I have 4.10s and nitrous :D

3.8LMustang 09-22-2009 06:38 AM

I guess it might be a little bit more than .3 if he's coming from 2.73s instead of 3.23s. I'll still keep my estimate and hope he can't launch. (I don't actually hope you can't launch... just for my estimate's sake) :D

Lazerred6 09-22-2009 09:53 AM

I just checked the weather and the day that I am going to the track looks like it will be clear (i'm so happy:D) about 3 days ago it was supposed to rain on friday

I'm looking at faily high humidity (67%) and low to mid 60s not sure on the elevation so the air conditions could be better but you go with what you got

Rumblin_6 09-22-2009 10:42 AM

15.90s @ 88-89

Good luck and be safe!

3.8LMustang 09-22-2009 12:00 PM

thanx yall

3.8LMustang 09-22-2009 12:08 PM

what psi should i run my street tires? i was thinking maybe 20, how much could i go? (lower that is)

Lazerred6 09-22-2009 12:18 PM

I wouldn't mess with tire pressure to much if it's to low it will slow you down at the end and that will be more trouble that the slightly better launch is worth

3.8LMustang 09-22-2009 12:47 PM

so then live it at 35psi and no burnout....

Lazerred6 09-22-2009 12:54 PM

Don't do a big burnout that will just kill your tires let them spin just enough to evaporate the water of the tires as soon as you see any smoke stop. Street tires don't get any real benifit from being hot

and as far as psi goes I wouldn't go below 30 and only drop it to that if you are spinning through most of first (which is unlikely) chirp is no big deal.

3.8LMustang 09-22-2009 01:00 PM

kool thanx

ill probably run it at 35 psi first and if i spin ill drop it down to 30

WNRacing 09-22-2009 01:34 PM

Most street tires are rated at about 32PSI, 35 seems a little too high to me. I'd probably run about 28PSI in the rears on the track, 32 for daily use.

Also, don't go through the water box at all if you can help it. Not only will it hurt your times, but you'll have all of the guys with slicks pissed at you. Just do your best to drive around it. Burnouts on regular radial tires do nothing to help traction, just do a small dry hop to shake the tires.

Lazerred6 09-22-2009 01:58 PM

At the one by me there is no way to go around it so you have to go through

and I found that the track elevation is 658 feet

3.8LMustang 09-22-2009 02:45 PM

ok thanx for the tip guys...ya both of the tracks i go to, there is no way around it

looks like im gonna have to do a small dry hop

Well, I could be way off. You'll never really know until you go to the track.
