Here is a hint, he is the one that looks like a microphone.

The guy is pretty awesome. AIC has a new song out, you can find it on myspace, "Check my brain", it sounds like it came right out of Facelift or Dirt.

The guy sounds freakishly like Layne Staley.

im a big fan of Layne, Mad Season was one of the best albums ever made, i would have loved to see him do more solo work before he OD'd

 

oh god no. that song is HORRIBLE. monotone singing, monotone guitars. there is variation in notes with the guitars, but it;s all horribly monotone. like it was forced or something. that is NOOOOT alice in chains.

i thought it sounded great, i've been hearing it on the radio here for weeks and i've been thinking "damn that really sounds like layne". they played some concert audio a few months ago on the radio and it got me pretty excited about it.

 

The radio station I normally listen to plays it every 20 mins and each time they say

"this is the new one from AIC and if you haven't heard it yet your going to love it."

every time this happens I want to call in a say

1. of course everyone who listens to the station has heard it you retarted **** stick

2. It makes me change the station every time cause I hate it and I have heard it exactly 2 million times

 

Sounded pretty Alice to me.
And the Guitars sounded pretty Jerry too.
I think its pretty good.
Does that mean Im gonna go out and buy the new album? No. I probably wont even listen to it. Im really not into mainstream radio rock. Hearing the same **** over and over again since I was 13 really kinda killed it for me. Besides. Theres so much better **** beyond radio.

 

yeah, IO dunno leonide that sounds pretty much EXACTLY like oldschool AIC... nothing like Jar of Flies, or Sap, but that is almost right out of the Facelift and Dirt albums

 

I am a huge AIC fan. Layne is my favorite singer. I heard thir new song for the first time the other night. Crazy, I know, but I never listen to the radio. I just happened to be riding around with my uncle and we had the thing on. I instantly knew it was AIC. It sounded like AIC and Jerry Cantrell's guitar playing is unmistakable to me. If anyone makes me want to learn how to play, it's him.

Anyway, I actually liked the song. Before Friday, I hadn't bothered to listen to anything that the new dude sings on, because I just feel kind of bothered about Layne not being the singer. I wasn't incredibly impressed with the vocals, but I wasn't put off, either. I just really liked it and it sounded a lot like classic AIC, which is a great thing. Facelift was one hell of a debut album.

I will be buying the new album. May even give it a listen all the way through. Just to support the guys. I'm glad they are carrying on. All of them are awesome musicians and it would be a shame if they put their talents to waste.

And yes, Chris, Mad Season is ******* awesome.
