Not trying to burst your dreams, but as an investor and watching out for you.

Personally i dont think its a good investment,

Specially with competitors like autogeek. those guys are the wal-mart of detailing supplies, and i know they are hurting really bad right now, everyday i get more newsletters and internet coupons then i ever in my life have had from them, from free shipping to 30%-50% off items. With the economy, one of the things i noticed is not everyone spends hundreds on detailing supplies like they use too.

They are hard to compete with since they have bought a lot of small brands, own stocks of competitors, literally buy items by the CONTRAINERS.

They had a "detail fest show" back in april which i got to attend, and i got to tour their massive warehouse. All their items are purchased by the containers.

They get meguiers, poorboys, four star, mothers, and other brands cheaper then anyone else.

Not only that but they also make a lot of products in house, their whole pinnacle line, wolfgang, and a few more brands they own and make it in house. AND their the official U.S. dodojuice distributors.

All their microfibers are also purchased by containers from china which allows them to give them for free with every order and sell them for dirt cheap.

Like i said, im not trying to burst your bubble, but I would look into other ventures to invest in.

I noticed your in Florida, im going to PM you one of my business ideas of a florida business im starting that is very promising.

I am a poorboys fan, and have been meaning to buy there black hole glaze and ex-p sealent for the next time I detail my car. I would definitely buy if the prices are even somewhat competitive. I would rather support a fellow mustang enthusiast then just some random large company. You should try to get some common polishing pads as well.

Good Luck Spike, My wife started her online business as just a hobby, but it turned out to much more than that. Main problems were shipping issues, and payments for stuff. Get paypal for sure, and get a good website, she had one that actually was pretty good, but it ended up being expensive. And you have to be online all the time, any interuptions causes delays, and that pisses people off.. People who pay by check, have to wait for it to clear, and that was a problem sometimes.. It is defenately not a hobby type thing to persue.. She gave it up after a year of no profit.

But I'm comparing apples to oranges here. Just be ready to have a full time job on your hands. I'll buy some stuff from ya.. You take paypal, Right.. :)

Oh, and another thing is, you can get a tax break on your computer stuff you buy for your business. Right it off as business expense. Get yourself a bad ass computer and the fastest internet you can find.. You'll need it..

Here's a name: Spikes Shines.. ;)

I didn't think you actually washed or waxed your own car.

I think if you start out small, you can have a good chance. Especially if you are getting good business from guys on forums. Or you can always go with Spinz grand business idea.

spike_africa 09-02-2009 09:13 AM

I respectfully declined Spinz offer. The whole point of this is that I have always wanted my own business, and I have always wanted to do something with cars since I was little.

And I hope like you said that while I start off small, that with references from you guys and others that it might grow into a decent sized business. I just can't not try it since you only live once you know.

Yeah but if you grow big enough and have the capital to get enough product you can do this

http://www.compucarnitrous.com/index...d=52&Itemid=60

Now I know that a 20 kit buy in is a bit much to start with but no body else ships their kits and if you get big enough and can manage the buy in it would be really cool..... you can put me down for a kit for sure..... maybe two if I can talk the wife into having some fun with her mountanieer

spike_africa 09-02-2009 10:41 AM

I was about to say that. I am retarded and didn't see that link on their page. I am going to talk to them once my business license is confirmed here and see what I can do. I would love to be able to carry Compucar nitrous kits too.

whitestang04 09-02-2009 12:50 PM

I was considering a Dynotune kit within the next year or so but if you carry Compucar and could get me a decent price I would rather go that route.

same here but I would pay a little extra for a supirior product and to help out a fellow board member if Spike can make it happen

whitestang04 09-02-2009 01:01 PM

Hahaha all these nitrous V6's and it is all Dustin's fault too.

I agree I would spend a little more to help out someone I know.

Don't worry I know all about this as I am a business management major with minors in Real Estate and Entrepreneurship. So I am well aware of the risk of starting up a new business. But like I said I am going to try :)

Black Sunshine 09-03-2009 12:59 PM

Damn, it's like Entrepreneurship 101 up in this bitch. Don't say you'll try to do it Dustin. Just fuckin' do it!

Oh, I thought of some names! Rusty Spike's, Silver Spike's, Bloody Spike's, Sharp Spike's... you get the idea! :p
