Kind of...I was going to buy a new truck at the end of the year but...well I told her not to wreck it while she wears it.



I had the camera set on a timer so this was the exact moment I proposed. Been together almost 3 years. She was 100% surprised and had no idea. This was in Miami on our recent vacation to Key West. We made a pit stop in South Beach for 3 days. Key West for 5, Daytona Beach for 2.

We're not the only ones smitten by the diamonds. Since you have posted that, several men have commented on it as well because the fact is that the ring is beautiful.

My ring is very modest and I love it. I have no problem with a small ring. It's the feelings behind it that count. A big-*** ring doesn't mean **** if it's not given with the absolute intentions of loyalty, commitment, honesty and love. If my fiance got me a huge nice ring, I'd actually be pissed. I'd rather him get me something for my car. "Valerie, will you marry me, you rotten bitch?" *Hands me a huge box that has a supercharger in it.* "Hell yes!" In all seriousness, I couldn't care less about the size of a ring. Making comments about it doesn't mean I'm 'smitten'. Just means that I will give credit where credit is due.



Shhiiiiiiittttttt. The only gold I dig for is my own... must be why all of my pockets have holes in them.

I actually already had a diamond ring that was my grandmothers. White gold with a 1ct solitaire which is exactly what she wanted. I stressed about it for a few months if I wanted to use that one that had sentimental value behind it from a family standpoint or do this on my own and get something from the heart that was 100% from me and that I picked out.

It is funny that I had no problem with throwing down and buying the ring I got because I guess when you know you know and there should not be any second guesses in your way of getting it. Me personally did not want to get her anything any smaller that what I got but I did look at bigger rings that were the same price but the quality and clarity on this thing is unreal! I had them side by side and it was night and day difference so I went with a better quality and prettier ring versus a larger ring with less quality

It is a Leo Diamond that is supposed to have some of the highest sparkle, clarity, and fire than most others out there.

She did tell me that my grandmothers ring would have been perfectly fine and she is also the kind of girl that could care less about the size of the diamond but I wanted to give her something nice. Kind of like going to a car lot and seeing a Mustang sitting next to a Kia...I'm gonna take the Mustang

 

It will be in 2010 but we are trying to decide between a fall wedding or winter wedding. She has always dreamed of a winter wedding with a Christmas type theme but not overboard ya know? The church is already decorated with lights and decorations and it would make for great pics. It is hot as hell here in the summer and even the spring plus you gotta dodge hurricane season so I don't want to put ourselves or anyone else through the misery of heat while they are in a suit or dress....or us for that matter

Congrats man and nice going with the better quality over size. I did the same thing, although I wouldn't say anything over a carat is small. My mother has a 3 carat diamond ring, and damn thats huge.
