What to do with my exhaust...

What to do with my exhaust...
I am pretty much tired of having the same exhaust system for the last 4 years almost. I have an o/r H-pipe into mac mufflers and homemade dumps. This setup sounds pretty damn awesome and anyone from the meets will pretty much agree with me. It would suck to try a different setup and have it sound worse.
I pretty much have 2 options I could go with. I could take my tailpipes from the Mac catback, that I kept, and have them welded back on for fairly cheap. Should cost less then $100 to get those welded back on. But I worry about poor alignment and poor welds from shitty work. This could lead to many trips back to the exhaust shop to have it fixed. Not my idea of a good time.
My 2nd option is to sell the tail pipes and dumps separately and get a new or used catback. Most likely used as my funds like most people are not very high. I actully found a brand new SLP LM2 catback for $400 on a local board and I bet I could get it for $380 picked up. Now I had the LM1's before the MAC and they sounded ok, but were stupid loud for daily driving. I worry these might still be to loud, and worse sound like ****. So I don't know what to do on that front.
I could keep looking for another used catback of course. The Pypes Violator setup sounds really nice. Almost like Mac, but slightly different and full stainless pipes would be nice back there too.
So yeah I need help. I also need to shell out money for CC plates and that sucks too

longtubes means a new midpipe. but then again..my suggestion would be to check out some borlas or bassani.. simnply because i don't know too many people with it. so...longtunes + midpipe would be....a couple hundred dollars more, lol.

If money is an issue: Keep your offroad H and throw on a Borla, or Bassani Catback.
If money isn't an issue: Bassani catted X pipe, and Bassani Catback. You won't be disapointed.
DO not go with SLP's please, leave them to the gaymaros. They sound like ****.
If your going to keep the car for awhile, do it right. You get what you pay for!

Justin, keep the dumps. Your car sounds ******* awesome the way it is. I say you just put the money towards exhaust on CC plates, because you definitely need those. That way you will also have time to really decide what you want to do with your exhaust instead of just jumping on something right away.

Opinions are like ********, everybody has one.

Thus the problem I have. I know the car sounds good, but I am over having dumps as I have had them for over 4 years. I called around to a few places and I think I am going to get the tail pipes put back on the car. I really dislike the MAC 3" tips and I think I am gonna get a set of used Magnaflows or SLP's Tips and just call it a day. Because I don't think I can get a better sounding catback for this car really.
Money is defiantly an issue, lol.

I listen to many clips on youtube and I think I am gonna pass on the LM2's even though its a sweet deal. Though if I didn't like them I could always swap them out with SLP powerflow mufflers later on.

Not necessarily. You can still find good-quality used parts for a fraction of the cost versus if they were new. Nothing wrong with that.

lol I don't mean I can't afford to eat and pay my mortgage. I just don't have lots of money to spend on this now.

find the setup you REALLY want...nevermind the price...save for it and while saving, you might find a deal out there on the setup you want. If not, oh well...at least you are saving for it, but either way you end up with exactly what you want.

I say keep what you have now. If you think it sounds the best then don't give that up. Sure you've been running it for years, but you don't want to be disappointed with changing it out. Ever since I switched over to dumps, I couldn't think of going back. I love the sound of the deep low rumble when you are taking off.

I would follow zip and just do what you really really want to do. I'm ready for something new on my car as well, but after just helping a guy put on the same x-pipe as me but with flowmasters on it I realized my car may end up sounding like ****, because his definitely does. Flowmasters blow, literally.
I wouldn't do anything but a set on longtubes, it'll change it enough to get the adrenaline pumping from just hearing it. I like your exhaust set-up a lot, I think you'd be changing it just to change it and you won't be happy afterwards.

You should look into getting whatever tips anthony had. Those were perfect.

He had an SLP catback that he had flowmaster super44's welded into those pipes. So he had SLP tips which are very nice.
#25
Gotcha. I paid nothing for mine which was nice. Well for the exhaust at least. Paid a nice amount for LTs and Xpipe
#26
I figure when I do cams I'll do LTs as well, since it'll be a long hour job anyways and I'll probably have the guys from House of boost do it.
