Default Man is it hard selling a car.

Well I came across this ad...

1999 Cobra

And the guy said he may be willing to do a trade + plus.

My car has 85,000 with no mechanical problems.

Whats the most cash you would offer???

I know we all hate these threads, but I want a Cobra still, and my car isn't selling

Well I would think your car is worth anywhere in the neighborhood of $6200 - $7500, so I'd talk to the guy and find out exactly what he's going for then negotiate a bit. See what the lowest plus price you can get and if it all works for you, then I say go for it.

I doubt this will ever happen, he said people are going to look at it tomorrow, and he'll get back to me.

just me but i wouldnt ever consider buying a 99 cobra..theyre just problemmatic. 01, 03/04 are the only cobras i would look at unless its a supercharged sn95 cobra. the 99 had that bad intake, they have weaker axles (i believe 28 spline vs 31 spline like thier 01 counterpart).

interior is like a normal gt...01 + cobras got their own specific interiors...just not a lot of pros over a normal gt.

true but for that price its still a cobra. But I see what you are saying, I think I would end up getting an 01 over a 99 as well. Alas im stuck with this POS V6 for a while though.

I think that's a steal if everything is nice and clean on the car. There's no other Mustang with 340hp that you're going to get for that price. Yeah it's no factory supercharged Termi but it's still a Cobra and still a nice *** car. Still a lot of modding that could be done to it so you could have some fun with that. I'd be all over it if I was you.

I wouldn't offer any cash. I'd do a straight trade or be done with it.

99 Cobras aren't special at all. They look like a GT with SVT emblems.

I'd rather have your 2001 GT than that 99 Cobra.

there is no way that he is making 340. he would be lucky to get 330hp crank. those mods dont constitute a 20 hp gain..especially since it doesnt look like he had a tuner or have it tuned.

320 hp with a weak tq curve. mach 1s are faster with 305 hp because of the updated 4v heads. the only difference between a 99-04 gt and a 99-01 cobra is 4v, irs, and bumpers.

brakes are different, suspension is different...keep in mind my 01 cobra with a magnaflow catted x pipe and cat back put down over 295RWHP without a tune...when the 99's had the fix applied they put down good #'s. My 01 when stock laid down 281RWHP/285RWTQ; so doing the math that is about 335HP stock...

oh yea, brakes.......

did the 99-01 have upgraded shocks/struts? i cant recall but for some reason i keep thinking that they werent, or at least they werent bilstien's.

i still wouldnt waste my money on a non terminator. i would feel that i cheated myself out of such a better car. but that is just my opinion...plus, i dont really care for the 99/01 cobra's bumper, and certainly wouldnt put a terminator bumper on for the sake its not a terminator.
