I love the TR Mach and Cobra's, but that is one sick ******* fox body, I've been talking to the guy and he sent me more pictures. the inside is spotless and man I can imagine how this thing would run. insurance is cheaper, the car is cheaper, it would smoke all the cobra's I've been looking and the mach. Gonna call the guy when I get off work and talk some more, but I've already seen enough to make up my mind.

Look at them in real life before you go spend money. It's never good to base any decision (yet alone an expensive one) based off of word-of-mouth and pictures.

For sure, me and my cousin are going to go look at it and if I still like it as much as I do now I'll take it

I'm sorry but you just can NOT beat the sound of a v8 coupled with the whine of a roots (?) blower. sounds like a damned jet.

Don't go in with your mind made up though, or you'll convince yourself to buy it regardless of if you find some dirt on it or not. Keep an open mind, be realistic and think big picture...then make up your mind.

Yeah definitely, which might be tough but I can manage it...if I end up not liking something about it I won't go ahead and get it because I know I'm still open to get an 03/04 Cobra. If I did choose to get a Cobra there's no way it could meet the power of that fox body though which is another thing I'm liking about it. Paying off the 20k+ of the Cobra won't allow me to just buy stuff left and right for it.

Think of it this way. The Mach and the Cobra both have the same 4V motor.

The Cobra comes with a factory supercharger, has all forged internals, and is possibly one of the most afamed mustangs ever. The factory Termi motors can push out over 600-700hp on all stock internals.

Mach's are 4Vs but are bone stock compared to the Cobra. Sure on spray it can beat the Cobra. But spend $500-600 on a tune and a 2.9 pulley and you'd smoke that Mach. The Cobra can push out wayy more horsepower easily without putting in a lot of money, which obviously can't be done with the Mach. A simple intercooler, fuel system, and pulley mod would push you out at 450rwhp+.....

You always here EVERYONE talk about Termi's.....So why not be one of those that they're envious of???

Not true by the way....The termi is an iron block, Mach is an aluminum block, the termi has forged internals and the mach only has a forged crank (only the 5 speeds do), cams are different, mach has higher compression ect.....The Mach engine also isn't the same as the 01 cobra, but much closer. The compression ratio on the mach makes them a little more difficult to supercharge, but that can be fixed.

I stock termi probably runs a 12.5 1/4 mile while a stock Mach can run a 13.1 1/4 mile. You can't lose with either car.

I would love to have the foxbody but I got to thinking, it's going to be a daily driver and I don't know how well the stroker engine would last being driven daily. Gas will be super expensive but that wouldn't be much of a problem considering insurance would be half the price that I pay now for my v6. I'm thinking the Mach is probably what I'm going to decide on, unless there happens to be a low mileage low price Cobra that comes up pretty soon.

No cobra, Cammed Mach, Or blown stroked 5.0 will ever be good on gas a stock cobra might get better gas milage then a mach with a cam but the 5.0 will drink it like crazy I'm thinking like 7 MPG

Yeah the red Mach I posted the guy quoted 20 mpg which is affordable. I just don't know how well the stroker engine in the 5.0 would last in 5 or so years. The guy who owns that said he gets about 12-16 with 4:10's. Yeah if the mach lasts I think that's going to be it. I mean a 500hp car shouldn't be daily driven especially not for years.

I would daily drive a 500hp car easily. Granted the gas mileage was half way decent. My friends dad use to drive his viper to work everyday. That thing gets like 13mpg highway and like 8 in the city.

Here is the detailed version of the Mach 1 vs Cobra spec debate for those who are curious.

Wrong. There is no way a Mach 1 will run a 13.1 on street tires bone stock. Even so, it still doesn't beat the fact that a simple $500 worth of parts can make the Termi run into low 12's...if you can get traction on street tires that is.

Thanks a lot King, I'll check it out in a sec.

I know a Termi is better than a Mach in almost every way of course, the thing is the finding one in this area will mean either traveling 100+ miles to look at one and bring it home or paying $800+ for one to be shipped here after I've paid for it, which means I would be buying something off of seeing a couple pictures of it. Insurance will be more and and I will probably be paying off a Cobra at least a half year to a full year longer than a Mach.

Regardless of whether a Cobra is better or not, the Mach 1 I linked is still one badass car you can't argue with that. It has an impressive list of mods and if I was serious about racing or become serious about racing it's already an 11 second car as it is. This car has had a lot more put into it than almost any other modded car does too, I can appereciate that. Plus I will be able to see it and drive it home, the owner said he would glady meet me in Branson which is an hour and a half away. The ease of that is worth a lot too.

This is the only Mach I would settle for, it's definitely not like I'm comparing a stock mach1 to a stock cobra.
