Every class outside your major classes is worthless.

I have 3 classes at Grand Rapids CC right now...then I'll be at Grand Valley State for my bachelors. 4-5 years down the road I'm hoping to go to Virginia Tech for my Masters.

WTF is a logic class about? I've had a basic philosophy class where we had to learn how to develop arguments that followed logic or somthing, couldn't contradict its self. Logic seems like commong sense.

I haven't taken a philosophy class, but it sounds similar. Basically arguments and in depth analysis of those arguments.

I took philosophy and it was horrible. We didn't do any arguing or debating about philosophical principles. All we did was read about what ancient philosophers believed. That was the entire class. I hated my life.

I was in Grand Rapids this previous weekend visiting some friends who go to Aquinas.

I try to take a class that can benefit me some way in the future. I know kids who have taken some BS classes. I just feel like a majority of classes are common sense or something I have already learned in high school.

All the classes before my junior year felt that way. General education classes are basically high school refresher courses.

That is what the rest of my philosophy class was. Just reading about other philosophers, boring as hell. You will almost never use that knowledge, although if you really study it, it may affect the way you think. I've also had another philosophy of worl religions class that had nothing to do with learning about the philosophy of religions, which would have been somewhat interesting. We just read books and crap, which in retrospect, were interesting, but at the time seemed like a waste of time.

When finishing up my general ed's... I've been trying to take classes that seem somewhat relevant to what I need... like public speaking courses, math related (I'm an accounting major) etc... Unfortunately somehow Intro to Logic fell under a requirement and not something I chose to take.
