Anyone nto RC?
Just wondering if anyone else here is into RC? I got the cars out to clean them up and ready them for that first decent day, and decided to take a few pics. The Cobra is my son Noahs', and the checkered one is mine. The Cobra is a Tamiya TL-01 electric. The other is a Traxxas nitro 4-Tec. I am also into large scale gas powered boats, although I havent ran one for awhile. Still have one to finish, but just dont have it extremely high on my priority list at the time.
I flew RC planes for awhile, but I just wasn't able to relax. It's hard to relax with your knees knockin'. LOL Cars and boats are a little more laid back to me I guess. I used to have a .21 Schumacher Fusion also, but ended up trading it for garage stuff, like air lines, pressure regulators, dryer, etc.. I don't really mess with it as much as I used to, but it's still a blast.

Still having trouble with resizing pics. Heres a link to a few boat pics. The blue one with the flames is the one I need to finish.

I use to be into RC big time. I had a Budweiser Nitro Hydroplane Boat and OMG that thing was fast. It'd disappear from your site in no time. I also use to do RC cars, not so much indoor but the outdoor buggies and stuff. We took the middle of our old motocross track and turned it into a dirt track for the cars lol. They were brushless electric, not nitro, but still super fast. I miss those.....My favorite part is painting the bodies...idk why though because I am not an artsy person at all....
Here's a picture of the go (not the show obviously lol)

I've got a Traxxas tmaxx 3.3 modded to the maxx, and a Traxxas Jato 3.3 modded. Fun to drive, but alot of upkeep if you are hard on them. I also race slot cars, which is fun, and alot less expensive than keeping up my nitro vehicles.

Black Sunshine should chime in. her husband/fiancee' not sure what he is to her but anyways. he brough out an electric RC and i have gas cars and i thought it was gonna be very slow but his goes 70 and it accelerates way faster than mine, although my ofna does go 75

He bought me a Losi Mini Baja Bug AWD that goes 30mph. I might get a brushless motor for it and then it will go 65, but that is a long ways away. I am still learning how to drive it at 30mph.

Thats what sucks though...the mention of the other possibilities. I had a Duratrax Axis buggy, and I know, it's a POS, but it was fun. I started wanting an on road car. Once I got that, I wanted a truck. Havent had a truck yet.
As for electrics, yea, it doesn't mean it's slow. I have seen footage of an electric boat going over 100 MPH. Boats are cool as hell, but sometimes a PITA, as you obviously cant just run out in the street and throw it down.
When I had enough of the airplane thing, I wanted to get into gas boats. I spent a couple months building a 48" Aeromarine Cyclone, which is an offshore catamaran type hull. I put a Zenoah G-23 "Super Mod" motor and a tuned pipe. I polished the pipe, and all the aluminum hardware, and had close to 20 hours in the paint job. On it's second run ever, engine not even broke in, I lost my signal. It plowed into a tree right on the edge of the pond at about half throttle. I still think someone on my frequency turned their radio on, but no one fessed up. I ended up putting the motor in a 48" Microburst, and after trying many different props, I got 56.4 MPH. We used both a Stalker Pro gun and GPS.
I wont have the blue boat ready I'm sure, but I'm anxious to get the 4-Tec out on the asphalt.

did you not have a throttle stop for lose signal, i totalled my first OFNA gas car b/c it was shitty AM and loss signal at like 75 yards and plowed through a fence, then i bought an FM ($$$$) and you can actually buy Frequency locks and **** to were it makes your frequency like .1 off so if someone tried to catch you on 5 on purpose u would really be 5.1 or some ****. not sure how it works but w/e ill post some pics next time i goto dads as all of the cars are over there.

No, I didnt. I used a Futaba 3PDF (FM). That was the only time I ever had trouble with reception. I couldn't afford a PCM radio like most my buddies had, but it was a decent radio. Some of those radios take the fun out of it, especially with planes, because they do so much stuff for you.
