so went to a concert last week
i went to a concert last week with my buddy dustin. it was at a small venue in a town near my school so it wasnt too crowded.
for $16 i saw 5 bands: The Becoming (never heard of them), Halestorm (never heard of them either), The Drama Club (a local band that have connections to Breaking Benjamin), candlebox (early 90's rock, youtube them, you will recognize them) and Saving Abel headlined.
i can honestly say that for $20 it was one of the best sounding shows i have ever heard. what made it even better is that Arron Fink (breaking ben guitarist) played for the drama club and i got to meet Aaron (dustin's bro was one of their close photoraphers/friends a while back) and most of the band members of Saving Abel.
it was nice being able to just talk to the band members outside of their RV's without the freaking immature girls flocking everywhere (when i mean this venue was small, it was really small...maybe 150-175 people)
just thought i would share that with ya guys. oh, and if you ever get a chance to see Saving Abel live, go! they put on a really good show! i plan on going in march when theyre back in the area.

and candle box's lead singer's voice hasnt changed at all!!! that guy can still hit all of those really high notes with ease!
and there was this one fan going just freaking insane!!!!!! one of the guitarist for candlebox was watching him the whole time and just laughing..i talked to him as well and i made a comment about that kid and he said that he was probably more entertained than anyone watching the show ahahahahahaha

convience fees...the concert itself was 16 but the venue charges a convience fee...which in this case was 4...if you ever been to a concert, you would know lol

i love going to concerts one of my favorite was for $10.59 i got to see 9 bands ie. Afi, Kill Hannah, Red Jumpsuit, Taking back sunday, Buckcherry, and a few others and couldnt beat being front row in a festival concert with about 5k ppl. Also if you ever get a chance go see Thrice, Silverstien, and less than Jake live those are the best live bands i've seen just some band dont perform as well as others.

Yeah my dad is in the christian music industry, so I hear that stuff first but really that's not really my thing. There is some good alternative christian rock that's pretty good, but most is really thick gospel stuff and I'm not really into that.

Down was the best concert I've ever been to. Gwar was an extremely close second. AC/DC was my first concert when I was 15. I went with my dad and even though I'm not a huge fan, they threw a pretty good show. Angus is incredible. I've seen ICP 4 times, Twiztid twice, and I saw/met Dax Riggs. I know no one here has heard of him. He's from Acid Bath, a psychodelic heavy trippy-*** metal band that hailed from Houma, Louisiana. Definitely one of my favorite bands ever.
I missed Type O Negative and Marilyn Manson last year. I also missed the Black Crowes and Tom Petty this year.

Saving Abel is decent, definitely not the best live concert I've ever seen, but they are pretty good. Went to the Cannery about a week ago and saw Theory of a Deadman, small show. Probably about 150 people max.
I've seen so many bands though (50 at the least) , it's pretty difficult to say who the best performer would be out of all of them.. I'd have to say Breaking Benjamin though, their live show is better than any CD they have ever put out, I think I have seen them.. 3 times now?..

AFI is my fav band. But i don't know how you can go from listening to and band like AFI and then listen to Silverstein. He sounds like a little girl.....and then a sick dog when he tries to be "screamo" if that's what you call it. hahaha it's funny to me when he sings.

I like you WN, so don't take this personally, but I really don't give a **** what other people think about my choice of music. My ears, my life, my choice. You don't have to be sorry that you hate them because you are entitled to your opinion. A lot of people hate ICP and I hear that a lot. Looking at me, you would never think that I like ICP. Ask Stephen, Dustin (Spike), Sean, Switch, and 03_GT. I don't walk around shouting it from rooftops. Hell, I can guarantee you they didn't know it until just now. I am not embarrassed about any of the music I listen to. I can go from ICP to Marilyn Manson, Pantera, Mary J. Blige, Blues Travelers, to the Misfits, Bone Thugs, etc. I have a very broad taste, so why the hell should I be ashamed of it?
Also, am I one of what? A 'juggalo'? No, I'm not. I used to be a huge fan of ICP. I never called myself a 'juggalo' because juggalos are morons. I don't paint my face, never have, never will (except for Halloween several years ago), I don't walk around screaming stupid ****, I take baths every day, I don't dress like a ***** or a thug, I don't have tattoos, and I don't act like a belligerent moron. Juggalos are uneducated white trash pieces of **** who give all of ICP fans bad names. Hence the reason why my interest in them has waned over the last few years. I got so sick of going to concerts, being degraded because I am a chick, being made fun of because my face wasn't painted, being told I wasn't 'down' enough, so I basically gave up on it all. It's all a farce. I always knew that the 'Dark Carnival' is a bunch of lies, but that doesn't keep me from liking the music.
I listen to ICP maybe once in a few months, if that. Still, I like them a lot and I will never be embarrassed to admit it. There is a difference between me and juggalos and I just want to make that clear. I hate being belittled because of a band. I also hate when people think differently of me all of a sudden. I don't deserve that because I am nothing like those shitstain juggalos and I take great offence when people call me that. Calling me a 'juggalo' is the equivalent of calling a black person a 'n****r'. I have been called every name in the book, but when someone calls me a 'juggalo', that is the only name that will revoke an extremely negative vocal response from me.
No, my fiance is not a juggalo. He doesn't like ICP, but he tolerates them because of me. Lucky for me, he puts up with it.
Even if I was a hardcore ICP fan, that doesn't change anything about me. It makes me sad that other people are so close minded that they wouldn't associate with someone just because they like a band that someone else doesn't. They could be missing out on an awesome friend or an awesome person. I'm not directing that towards anyone on here, just in general. Sadly, I have actually lost a few 'friends' because of it. Their loss, because I am ******* awesome.
WN, If all you have heard from Twiztid are songs about suicide, then you haven't heard very much. That's another common misconception about Twiztid and ICP. 'All their songs are about rape, suicide, and other horrible things!' Well, of course they are because the majority of ICP and Twiztid's songs are written in the third person!

WN, that wasn't a dig on you or even directed towards you. That is just a very sore subject for me.

*Sigh* Somehow I knew this was coming. I've been through this several times before, but I still get sick of it.

I was joking about the whole "juggalo" thing, plus I thought women were just "bitches" to ICP? Can women be categorized as "Juggalo's" now? lmao
Didn't mean to scratch the sore spot, I just hate ICP with a passion, much of their music is about things that I don't want to be remotely associated with just like most rap "artists" ,whether they are in "3rd person" or not. Most of their "music" is extremely hateful towards women, basically viewing them as objects to be used. I've never understood how women could be fans of that..
That's JM2C, you listen to what you like, I couldn't care less! Just so long as it goes in your ears and not mine!!

Well, most of them were never friends to begin with. Just morons that I'm glad I have nothing to do with now.
Women aren't just bitches to ICP. Men can be bitches, too. The correct term for a woman 'juggalo' is 'juggalette'. That term has been around longer than I have been listening to them, which has been 10 years. Women can be described as both 'juggalos' and 'juggalettes', but the latter is the proper term to use.
Oh, I know you didn't mean to **** me off. I understand that you hate ICP, because it is your right and your opinion. ICP's music isn't hateful towards women at all. They hate bigots, wife beaters, child molesters, etc., with as much passion as you hate ICP. They view groupies as objects to be used, because that's what they are and that's exactly what the groupies are there for because they put themselves into that situation. But regular women, even Violent J himself has said he has 'mad respect for'. Also, what about Gene Simmons' claim and the fact that he routinely brags to have been with over 1,500 women? That's not 'using' women? I guess that doesn't matter because he's from Kiss and a lot of people like over-rated Kiss. I think a lot of people that say that ICP are womanizers have not heard nearly enough songs from them to be able to judge the content of their music. Trust me, if it made me uncomfortable to listen to or if I was severely morally opposed to it, I wouldn't listen to it.
I know. I don't force it upon anyone. I don't want to be force fed anything, so I don't do it to anyone else. I'm not that type of person, anyway.

i went to the Metallica concert last month that was at Columbus. they toured with Down and The Sword. down was better than The Sword, but Metallica made them look like they were noobie bands. that, and Down's lead singer used the F bomb every other word and insulting the crowd, which i dislike. that, and i am not a fan of their music. seeing Metallica live was pure AWESOME.

Being the old guy here I can say I've been to many concerts in My state. I don't remember any that I didn't enjoy. Here are some of the ones I've seen. all in NC at different cities
ZZ top, Lynyrd Skynrd, Point Blank, in 1976
Mothers Finest, Robin Trower, in 1977
Foghat in 1975, 1977
Allman brothers in 1992
Nantucket in 1979, 1982
Cinderella in 1989
Little Feat in 1989 (great show)
Scorpions in 1988
Head East in in 1978
My last concert was in 1996 Allman Bro's again. It was outdoors and 100 degrees and I was drinking hot beer.
