V6 to V8 swap

ok... i just did a V6 to V8 swap today...took me about 4 hours ish. it's an azure blue 1998 GT with a 5 speed. i traded my white mustang. :)

i will NEVER go back to 6 cylinders. thinking about naming her the "blue bomber"

King 10-31-2008 09:58 PM

Pics? And did you do a 2v or 4v swap?

Leonide 10-31-2008 10:10 PM

i will leave the car as is...cause i have other financial thingies to worry about. the car is good enough as it is right now. i will worry about a 4 valve swap later. i will also post pictures tomorrow when the sun is shining. it has a Cervini ram air hood that is functional.

King 10-31-2008 10:17 PM

I don't think I've ever actually seen an sn95 with either a functional or non-functional shaker...I'm interested.

Leonide 10-31-2008 11:15 PM

it's not a shaker, it's a ram air hood. it has air ducts in the hood that go straight to the intake, ramming the air down the Plenum. :)

the scoops are nice and big, looks great.

King 10-31-2008 11:21 PM

Oh...I don't know why I was thinking shaker.

I once did a v6 to v8 swap but it took me even less time........... Ask me how lol.

wow....

sand1303 11-01-2008 02:55 PM

well that's what i thought at first too. because he already had a white 98 v6 didn't he?. so if he did a swap and it took him 4 hours, why is it a blue 98 gt?( a very nice looking one)

King 11-01-2008 03:30 PM

He traded the white sixer in. It says it in his first post. And it probably took him 4 hours to get through the papers and whatnot. When I bought my car it took a little over 4 hours as well.

sand1303 11-01-2008 03:34 PM

well yeah that's what i got out of it, u got to be on a ton of speed to do and engine swap swap in 4 hours right

King 11-01-2008 03:37 PM

Not really. You've just got to have the people and tools in place. I forget what the record is, but if I remember correctly it's something like an hour and a half.

King 11-01-2008 05:35 PM

It's on video somewhere. I saw it on tv a while back...can't seem to find it though

LOLOLOL.

you guys are a trip. XD

i traded the white 98 in for the blue GT. worthy trade. :)

great work. Now swap that 4.6 for a 5.4 and experience the tq. it's the same difference in feel as the v6-v8 swap.

Leonide 11-03-2008 12:50 AM

that will have to wait for a while, even if i consider it. i barely have enough spare money to get a Magnapack catback exhaust.

r3dn3ck 11-03-2008 07:08 AM

I know... I'm just tormenting you. glad to see someone stepping into a major mod again. good work. Been to a dyno yet?

Leonide 11-04-2008 07:43 AM

not yet, been thinking about it though. i have no idea where a Dyno is in Ohio though.
