Need some input on a decision
Here's the scenario. There's a classic car dealer in Denver. Yesterday I drove up there to talk about consignment of my evo (they would sell my evo for me). When I walked in, I immediately fell in love with this car. It's a 1969 Mustang coupe. it's white, has a 302, bored 30 over, this thing is ******* CHERRY, 3000 miles on the engine, 500 on the tranny (auto tranny, unfortunately). I fired it up and the thing ROARED to life. It's perfect, its like buying a brand new, but better 1969 mustang. The thing is he would give me the mustang + 4000 for my paid off evo. but my original plan was to get a truck to deal with the winters, and a new r6 to have fun in the summer. If I sold the evo I would take a 7k or so loan out for the truck, and buy a bike cash. If i got the mustang I would owe 12 grand. The problem is I live in Colorado. Although the truck is more practical, the mustang is one of the most gorgeous, pristine, amazing cars i've seen, and it's only 16k. I don't know what to do..the responsible side of me says consign the car, be patient, and buy a truck so I can handle the winter, and i'll still have something to play on in the summer. The car lover inside of me says THIS MUSTANG IS BAD ******* ***, and when I'm old I'll reminisce on that 1969 mustang i had in college.

Personally I wouldn't do it. I'm not really a huge fan of older cars, but some are cool. I also see half the fun about having an older car is to be the one to build it instead of buying someone else's restore. That's just me, but I'd say keep the evo if it's paid for and then just get a truck.

dude, in all reality, you should look into buying a truck....again. i dont understand why you are going to trade in an awd car for a 4x4 truck. you should keep the evo. not may people have as nice of a car as yours. and if you dont like driving your EVO in the winters, just garage it and just dont drive.
i surely would not trade in a sweet *** car for a truck and a bike. i mean, you could have one sweet *** car and a sweet *** bike. thats my goal for next year.

I wouldn't do it either. I don't think that's a car that you'd want to drive that much. I'd keep the evo and get a truck, but if you don't plan on hauling stuff or have a dirt bike what's the point of getting a truck when you have an AWD car?

If you get classic car insurance you can get it for cheap but you can't drive it alot my buddy has his rx7 under classic car insurance and he pays like 150 a year he can only do a small amount of miles but he disconnects the speedo and uses gps to get his speed so no miles go on. it's illegal but hey no one can prove it he has it fully covered up to 15K too even though the car isn't worth ****. I forget how old the car has to be though his is an 82 so you would be fine

what kind of truck were you looking at? i was looking at 2002 Dakota V8 Quad cabs as a replacement for my daily driver and it was more expensive than the stang under my name. i would think that the evo would be around the same as the stang or cheaper cause it's still a 4 door in the insurance agency's eyes.
