lol I paid like $200 for mine. |
It's not my camera :( Buying one though.
it was something like $480 off Amazon |
that nikon does look better, i dig its ability to focus on the object you want, and leaves the rest fuzzy... is that what SLR does?
|
^ If you take action shots beware, Nikon is known for taking longer to process pics between shots
|
is that nikon the 6.1mp?
|
|
man that is sooooo tempting...
sucks it is so much. i see it as low as 300 in some places, but im sketchy with larger buys over the internet to some place ive nver heared of i dont know if i can swing 500. 400 yeah. ill have to check. good thing is it uses the same memory card i have now, so i dont gotta buy one. does the nikond40 need batteries or does it have an internal>? |

If you want to learn about what DSLR is you can check it out here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital..._reflex_camera The focusing is all in the lens, most DSLR lenses have autofocus, some cheaper ones are manual focus only. The standard lens with the D40 is the 18-55mm autofocus, and it gets the job done but there is room for improvement. As far as the image processing being slow or whatever in Nikons, it hasn't really made a difference to me. The D40 can capture 3 frames a second, and with some good timing that's all you need. But trust me, it is worth it to spend $500 on a camera, especially if you enjoy photography. DSLR cameras are amazing. The D40 comes with a rechargeable battery, and spares are like $10.00 each. http://www.amazon.com/Nikon-Digital-.../dp/B000KJQ1DG $450 on amazon. |

My brother has a D60, it's awesome. I like D40s personally, so go that route. |

I have the Sony A200 DSLR. It's 10.2mp and you could find it for around $450-500. It's a good camera and I would say it rivals any other camera in the same pay scale.

Awesome man. I would have said get the canon rebel xt since I have one and love it, but the nikon d40 is an awesome camera as well.
btw here is a site to check out for some basic how-to tips for your new dslr. There are a million things you can do with your camera, normally I don't look at manuals but honestly check yours out if you learn how to use the camera to it's potential you can crank out some really cool pictures. http://www.dslrtips.com/workshops/DS...als_tips.shtml |

well i certainly wont let that car out of my hands untill after i get some good pics of it. lol... Hey, what programs are out there for HDR imaging? |
photomatrix.
|
Photomatix, not Photomatrix.
Photoshop CS2/3 both have the ability, but not good. I use Paint Shop Pro Photo X2 for mine. I love it. It's only a $100 program, and you get a lot of the photoshop abilities for hundreds of dollars less. |
I have 2 Canon SLRs and their great. To get the blurry background effect you need to get a portrait lens.
