So what is the difference between a GT and a Mach 1? Performance wise that is.

 

Mach 1's have the DOHC 32valve 4.6l V8 like the cobras do, and have like 45 more hp.

they also have better suspension

 

a lot.....45hp and 20lbs of torque....3.55 gears, about a 1,000rpm's more due to the 4v engine plus lots of other stuff. I haven't had my mach for a while so I forgot some of the stuff, but essentially the mach 1 is about 1 second faster in the 1/4 mile than a GT (Several guys on the mach 1 registry have ripped a 13.1-13.3 bone stock, as did MM&FF).

A stock 99-04 GT will dyno around 220-230rwhp while a mach will dyno around 270-280rwhp.

 

performance wise..........instead of just feeling your *** in the back of the seat, your gut will join it.

Well, the all important Brock Yates thinks the Mach 1 shaker hood is a toy, a bobble, and doesn't really enjoy driving this car. What a fcking joke he is. I would love it. As i'm sure all of you Mach 1 owners do too..

They also suggested the engine was pulled from the 1995 cobra, which is about as wrong as you can be.

 

They said it had IRS, Machs don't have IRS do they? One difference to note about the Mach1s is between the Automatics and Manuals. The Autos don't get a forged crank and have a lower redline.

 

The mach's do not have IRS suspension. Those Car and Driver dudes are complete morons and have no clue what they are talking about.

I don't know much about that Brock Yates guy but he sucks. What kind of puss complains about the shaker hood being too high? An old, dried up shell-of-a-man. Give that guy a Lincoln town car to drive. Shaker hood = Bobble head?

 

I'm still waiting for that Lincoln LS Mustang that was supposed to be out in 04? LOL. Yeah, that big *** shaker hood. It really blocks the view. I think they shoulda made them options for GT's instead of that inch high scoop.. cool vid but, damm. they must not have been in contact with Ford about their R&D team in 03..
