any one play paintball?

i played for about 4 years, i started off with a 100 dollar spider, after 2 years i bought a wgp autococker. they are the most accurate on the field, they are semi tho and are complicated to work on. The autococker was about 300 bucks used. i dont play that much anymore and may sell my autococker
for a beginner i would definitely start with a spyder. they are easy to do regular maintenance and are reliable. They are easy to upgrade if you need a little extra power. But you should start off with that because paint is expensive and you may or may not be interested in playing paintball that long. Spyders can also run off cheap paint whereas the autocockers need to be fed premium paint or you could risk chopping and messing up the internals with shell fragments and such. if you have any questions feel free to ask

Ya I play..
I've got a smart parts ion...was a like 200 brand new nice hopper with it, not hard to upgrade, its for an intermediate player but its not hard to figure out.
For their price they are very accurate and reliable on a speedball course. If you plan on playing indoors its got to be semi auto anyways.

I used to play when I was in highschool. I had a Tippmann 98 custom with all the normal mods. They are very good guns to start out with, and you can upgrade them to however you like. I need to sell mine becuase I haven't played in over two years. I had some friends who started out with Spyders and they were close to crap, the cheap ones, broke all the time and chopped *****. Alot of them ended up getting a Tippmann. We played woodsball so the 98 Customs and A-5s were good for that.

I don't think you were playin kids with ions..they don't fire full auto..and if they spanked that *** with semi auto..thats yer fault ;x

i have played for about 5 years and it gets really really expensive. my first gun was a tippmann A5 with double trigger and a 14" J&J ceramic barrel on it. Two years later i bought the E-Grip for it and i loved it. A little while ago i bought a dye matrix dm8 and it was the best gun i have ever shot. a lil over priced at 1399 but i sold my a5 and accessories for about 500. i just didnt play enough to justify having a $1400 gun so i sold it for like 1200 and bought a used autococker for like 250. it was modded a lot but it is an older model.
for a beginner i would suggest a tippmann 98 custom cause they are the easiest to work on and it is purely mechanical. no electronic parts in it. and its clam shell design is awesome to work on and clean

Ok, ya the IonXE but you've got to use tools to switch it.. any field that allows full auto is a BS field anyways lol.

Used to play...had me an 05 angel speed. ahh that was such a fast gun.
auto and semi auto aren't allow with pros. they just have really light triggers and they "walk" the trigger. take your index and middle finger and move em back and forth as fast as you can. and the triggers on guns like my old one are so sensitive, it only takes a mm or less to fire..so when you walk the trigger you get the full auto effect..well thats how it was like 3 years ago anyway.

they have to have semi auto if they walk the trigger. if no they would need to re-**** the gun after every shot.
walking the trigger is so much fun. a buddy had an angel and he set his trigger so sensitive that just shaking the gun would make it go off...of course he didnt keep it like that

ya pros use the semi auto and walk it..burst and full auto aren't allow in gameplay
Though..if you were able to play in like..a very large paintball course ..theres a few down here in So Cal..burst would be pretty fun..
but most pros play on speedball courses..which are pretty small..full auto or burst mode would really require no skill on it

It really depends on what you're going to play.. A-5s are bigger guns..for a bigger sort of playing field.. its more for outdoors not a speedball course.
98 Customs are good all around guns.
Spyders can be pretty decent as well, just not as accurate as a Tipman or a Smart Parts
If its your first gun though..don't go spending 400 dollars right off the bat..the game is expensive as hell..
Oh..I'd get a gun that can use compressed air..its free..not hard to find somewhere to refill it..you could do it at home if you really wanted ;x

Use the cheapest ***** you can find. It's a Tippmann A-5, unlikely you will chop *****. I Practice *****, do you mean re-useable *****? No chance you'd go around collecting them on the ground. Expensive ***** are for the guys getting paid to use them.
#24
Practice ***** is the term for the really low end *****, usually have a noticeable seem but tough shell. Think "Giant tub of 4,000 ***** for 19.99!"
#25
Well that's what I used as regular play ***** lol. I hated spending money on ***** that I was just going to use to paint trees with.
#27
No, but not to the point you would really notice. it matters more when you have tighter barrels, you need the ***** to all be the same width exactly, but thats for high-end pro play. I use crap paint in my gun (Triumph XT) which is basically a tippman 98 designed for indoor speedball rather than woodsball... Good gun, I have fired a couple thousand shots and havent broken a ball. Hard to believe but true, my old viewloader orion broke ***** pretty regularly, but that was outdoor play in -5* F temperatures... where ***** bust lol
#28
To be mean, I would freeze a bunch of ***** sometimes when I played with friends. They did the same thing so it ended up adding a little fun to the game wondering if you were gona get a ****** frozen ball shot at you that won't bust and hurts like hell.

i think im going to get practices ***** to just play with my friends. this seems to be a good deal.http://www.paintball-online.com/pain..._prod_PBTARGET
